Ford Escort MK2 RS2000 Custom, genuine RHD UK historic car eligible for tax and MOT exemption.Please read the full advert, I have tried my best to cover everything. But, if you think I have missed something, have any questions or queries about condition or specific parts that haven't been mentioned, then don't hesitate to ask. It is a very honest restoration project with the parts you need to get it back on the road and no hidden nasty surprises. It is a great base for a winter project.1980 on a W, 6 owners, the most recent 2 are from the same family which have owned it since 1996, very low believed to be genuine mileage of 36,000, no police or insurance history showing on HPI check and no additional notes are listed on the V5, dry stored since 1999, some old receipts, and old MOTs are present, originally yellow but had a colour change to red, the V5 is registered in my name and address. GCAT VIN and RS on the V5.All the body panels, lights, headlight back plates and surrounds, spoiler, locks, hinges, handles, mirrors with back plates, keys, window regs, a fuel cap, fuel tank with sender and filler neck, washer jets, washer bottle, bonnet stay, outer c pillar trims, wiper system, badges, RS bumper with end caps and brackets, glass with seals and wiring with fusebox and cover are present, the shell requires some repairs but all the appropriate repair panels are included, they are all new and purchased within the last few weeks, they may not all be requited, but were bought with a belt and braces/worse case scenario approach, the repair panels that are included with it are;Front panel,Complete RS type inner front panel,A pair of fully dressed RS type small hole inner wings,Splash shields,Flitch panels,Chassis leg bridging brackets,Lower bulkhead,Upper bulkhead,Heater bubble,Scuttle correct 7 fixing type,A pair of inner lower A post panels,A pair of front foot wells,Inner and outer sills,Rear sill closing panels,Jacking points with supports,A pair of complete inner rear wheel/arch tubs,Rear outer arches,NS door skin,NS lower door frame repair section,A pair of lower rear 1/4 corner panels,Spare wheel trough,Fuel tank trough,Battery tray and support,New nosecone fitting kit/brackets,Roof skin as it currently has a sunroof hole,Rear parcel shelf to replace one with speaker holes.Are all included, a very small repair is needed at the NSR window lower corner, the front wings are usable with a light tidy up, front arches are good, but magnum will have restorer quality ones available at the end of this year if preferred, the rest of the car looks good, chassis legs and rails, A posts, B and C posts, tunnels, rear floor, boot floor, rear panel and 1/4 panels are all good.The interior is a brown, fishnet recaro custom type in good condition, dashtop, all seats, headrests, seat runners, guages, belt buckles, trims, mirrors including remote mirror, heater, vents and pipework, switches, contrils, cowling, pedal box, clock, kick panels, grab handles, window winders, armrests, door release handles with surrounds, lock pins, glovebox, c pillar trims, bonnet pull, ashtrays, hand brake lever, sunvisors, carpet with trims, boot carpet with spare wheel cover and strap, centre console, steering wheel, both gearstick gaiters, headlining with rods are all present the only things missing are a couple of bits of sound insulation, rear arch covers, the coin tray, front belts, and parcel shelf and rear bulkhead covers, headliner could do with replacing, some fixings may be needed, all these parts are readily available new.It has capri 2.8 Bilstein front suspension and brakes, RS crossmeber, RS anti roll bar, anti-dive kit, rear multi leafs with lowering blocks and shackles, English axle with LSD, anti tramp bars, RS brakes and a quick rack, complete column is present, servo, tower, master, vac pipework are present, radiator is not present, some coolant hoses are present, Jack, escort RS 4 spokes with a spare wheel. Some brake pipes and fixings may be required. The original block is present with RS alloy sump, it turns freely by hand, the cylinders are in very good condition, hasn't been overbored, and still showing the honing marks, no scoring or hot spots, it comes with new crank seal, timing belt, new Jack shaft seal, new big end bearings, an alternator with RS bracket, belt cover, starter, distributor, water pump, aux shaft, pulleys, fuel pump, mounts, flywheel, clutch and brackets/tensioner, the rods, pistons, dipstick with tube, oil pump with pickup and crank are still fitted. It was a good strong engine when last on the road. The head was showing its age when inspected so has been removed and will be substituted with a nice reconditioned injection/EFI head it has been lightly skimmed and gas flowed, it has new hardened valve seats, new plugs and leads, bronze valve guides, new cam bearings, new thermostat and housing, new cam seal, new rocker cover seal, a new alloy piper vernier pulley, new piper BP285 camshaft, new piper followers, new piper valve springs, new piper valve stem seals, new oil spray bar, new timing belt and tensioner, new temp sensor.There is a RS cast exhaust manifold with heat shield, RS exhaust downpipe and twin choke weber 32/36 DGAV on RS manifold with throttle linkage, some fuel pipes may be required. The gearbox is a type 9 with RS alloy bellhousing, clutch fork, mount, speedo drive and cable and new quickshift lever. There isn't a propshaft, but these are readily available. The car is located in Abergele on the North Wales Coast. For collection I will only be available evenings and weekends. You will need a van/large car and a trailer or car transporter. All parts are boxed/put on pallets. The majority of them should fit inside the car, the car is on 4 wheel dollies so loading should be straight forward. I would like it to be collected soon after the auction ends.Payment will be checked and must be cleared before anything is released. GBP only if paying cash, I will not accept scottish notes.
