Vehicle Details
I acquired this car awhile back from my wife's cousin. They purchased the car in 1966 and it has spent most of its live in Colorado and Iowa. The car did not get driven in winter and spent most of it's last 50 years in storage. The car has a 345 hp 394 engine that runs and sounds great. The car comes with factory ac, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power driver seat, tinted windows, bucket seats (vinyl) and console. The good. There's not any visible cancer or rust. I took pics of the floor pans underneath and those other pics are of the trunk drop offs at the bottom of the quarters. There isn't any rust. There hasn't been any rust repairs done to this car in its lifetime. The engine runs great with no issues, the transmission shifts ok but will need a new pan gasket. Brakes are good, steering works ok, all power windows including the power wing windows work OK but have slowed over the years. The tires look new but are old and have some cracking. The air conditioning is all there but I tried to gas it and found a leak at the stv valve. It needs a kit to reseal it. The ac did get cold untill the freon leaked down. All lights work, the upholstery is good with no tears but it's original and a little stiff. The bad: The car has some hail damage repairs back in the late 70's. The body shop didn't remove the trim and sanded the paint poorly and the paint is peeling. Then paint on the bottom is original. The paint is faded and thin, I did a quick buff job to see what would happen and it buffed through in a couple of places. Paint has peeled in the center of trunk lid due to poor prep by bodyshop. The car needs paint. The ac does need serviced and the tires need replacement. Other than that everything is good. Except for tires this would be a fly in and drive home car. It is a great candidate for restoration since I don't believe it needs any major rust work. I will be out of town for a few days during this sale and I will be able to answer questions. If you want a pic of a specific area I may have to delay it until I return. Images
