Mk 2 golf Gti 3 door 8 v. This is a rare find in as much as it is a 100% original car with low mileage low ownership a huge history file and a near perfect interior. I'm the 5 th registered owner but the 1 st owner was the dealership who pre registered the car and sold it to its 1 st owner whose wife used it for many years. When the 1 st owner and his wife separated the car was kept by his wife and put in her name and used by her until my friend bought it 11 years ago, he kept it until recently when I bought it so it's only been driven by two long term owners. It's done 98.000 miles which is obviously very low for a 30 year old car and this is backed up with an absolutely massive history file that includes every receipt invoice and bill from day one. There's bills for everything and it's clear the mileage is genuine. Apart from a high quality stainless exhaust that was fitted in the 90's (and is still perfect) it is totally original in every respect including all the paint and panels. It has never been involved in any kind of accident and has never had any paint work. The rainbow interior is in amazing condition and I don't think you would find one as good as this inside it really is in time warp condition with everything working as it should including the central locking the sunroof and the MFA. The windows are manually operated which I love. Importantly the vulnerable headlining is in perfect condition the seats are unworn the door cards are like new as are the carpets and the dashboard. On the downside it's a 30 year old red car and the paint has faded and gone milky but it polished up ok and is perfectly presentable as it is or you could treat it to a quality respray and make it a a 12/15 k car. It's unusual and special because of its history originality and it's lovely interior and it would be fantastic to look after enjoy and show just as it is but if you were looking for the ultimate base for a restoration project this would definitely be the car to do it with.
