1981 GMC Sierra 1500 Fleetside Short Bed Great lowered Hot Rod Shop Truck with cool patina Runs, drives, stops and sounds great No rust, spent it's whole life in Central Washington State Original Paint except for drivers fender and bedside
Awesome patina that has been buffed and waxed
Engine: 305 Cu In Small Block Chevy Edelbrock Performer intake and Holley 600 cfm Carb New fuel tank sending unit Holley mech. fuel pump, Cannister fuel filter, 3/8 hard fuel lines, Eaton weatherhead fittings and hoses. Only one hose clamp on whole fuel system at the sending unit Long tube headers, heat wrapped 2 1/2" dual mandrel bent exhaust, Summit two chamber mufflers, nice tucked up tips, Exhaust fully tig welded Heavy duty Radiator with electric fan and automatic thermostat New Battery Transmission: Saginaw 4 speed manual ( out of a chevelle, nova, camaro) THIS IS NOT A GRANNY LOW TRUCK TRANS New Hurst Competition Plus shifter and linkage New Hurst double bend shift handle and white knob New Tailshaft seal Tubular transmission crossmember, tig welded, grade 8 hardware, frame boxing plates tig welded. Rear Axle: 12 bolt truck rear end 3.42 gear ratio with posi New Fel-Pro housing cover gasket and fresh gear oil New driveshaft u joints Wheels & Tires: Sandblasted wheels painted gloss white Original GMC dog dish hubcaps New 235/75 r 15 tires (less than 100 miles) Interior: New OER dashpad Refurbished door panels Red vinyl seat New Retrosound Laguna Radio, Dash Speaker, and Antenna Under dash oil pressure and water temperature gauges
Cons:Throw-out bearing squeaks when clutch is engaged (you can hear it in some of the driving videos). Its been like that for a while and hasn't got any worse, just annoying Speedometer cable growls sometimes (Need to either shoot some WD-40 in it or put a new one on) Steering box has some play in it
This is a fun little truck to rip around in.
Drive it as is or take it to the next level (I was planning LS swap with T-56 6 speed).
It's not perfect, like most unrestored vehicles it needs things here and there.
