For sale is a 1993 Peugeot 205 1.9 Gti, non sunroof version.  It has undergone a full restoration, by myself; a full time classic car restorer.  The car has had a full strip down back to bare shell, and mounted on a roll over jig, any rot has been removed and replaced with new steel.  This included new outer sills on both sides, a new boot floor, and a new front panel.  The shell was then sandblasted, and epoxy primed the same day.  The paint job is of very high standard, using the best quality lacquer which gives it a show car shine.  As you can see in the photographs, the body panels are perfectly straight, with not a single dent or variation anywhere.  The surface finish of the lacquer has been subjected to wet flatting, which removes the “orange peel” effect, so give it a glass like appearance.  The underside of the car has been protected, using Upol raptor bedliner, a 2 pack product which is extremely tough and hard wearing.  This was tinted to the same colour as the car, then a coat of clear lacquer applied over the top to give it a shine, and extra protection.  The axles of the car were also stripped, sandblasted and repainted with epoxy primer and 2 pack stain black paint. Then all wearing components (seals, bearings, bushes etc) were replaced in due course.

The engine has been fully rebuilt at my local engine specialist, with new cylinder liners, piston rings, main and big end bearings. Cam belt, water pump and all seals have been replaced. Also, all the ancillaries are either new or refurbished, e.g. starter motor, alternator, clutch, fuel pump.  The entire braking system of this car is brand new.  The gearbox has also been overhauled by a local specialist.  I have receipts for both engine and gearbox showing the work done.

The interior of the car is all original, and is in excellent condition.  There are marks and blemishes which are to be expected from a nearly 30 year old car.  There has been a repair made to the drivers side bolster on the seat, where the stitching had come apart, but hardly noticeable until its been pointed out.  All the electrics work including the electric windows and central locking.

It is showing 182,000 miles on the clock, however this is irrelevant now since all engine, gearbox and drivetrain, wheel bearings and brakes are all new.  The car drives great, pulls really well through all the gears and has a sporty, responsive feel.  It is a quite a rare car with it being a late model, phase 2, without a sunroof or power steering, which makes it more desirable to enthusiasts.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to send a message.  Thanks for looking.
