Description1957 Studebaker Golden HawkListed on behalf of the estate of the owner.Located in SALEM, OREGON. Serial # 6100669 Engine # PS1706 This Studebaker Golden Hawk rolled off the assembly line on October 19, 1956. A western car all of its life, approximately 20 years ago it was purchased by a collector in the Reno, Nevada area who made upgrades for touring, including: These items from a 1962 GT Hawk: • Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission with factory Hurst shifter. • Front bucket seats - all leather interior. • Studebaker Avanti front and rear sway bars for better handling. • Auburn Posi-Traction rear-end with 3.31:1 gear ratio and Mosier flanged axles. • Front disc brakes (original drum brakes are included with the sale.) • Power steering. • Rebuilt original radio with AM/FM/USB/Bluetooth. • Custom Pearlescent White paint with "Apache Red" accents a'la the 400E model Golden Hawks. • Frenched hood louvers for added engine ventilation. • Recently, Over $10,000 in service was done (with receipts) including: • Modern AIR CONDITIONING added with subtle under-dash ducts and controls.• Replaced mechanical fuel pump and auxiliary electric fuel pump. • 12 volt Optima battery for fast starts. • Radial whitewall tires.• New King Pins and Bushings.• Front Wheel Alignment. • Power Steering Ram rebuild.• Full brake service.• Rebuilt carburetor and full tune up including new electronic ignition conversion. High output coil.• Rebuilt Starter.Less than 200 miles since work was completed.This Golden Hawk looks great and presents well. Excellent chrome and trim. Good glass all-around. Trunk is solid and rust-free. Includes spare tire and jack. Paint is very nice, smooth with a deep shine and only a few very small chips noted on the front from use. The metallic foil inserts on the tail fins and door panels are all excellent.PLEASE SEE PHOTOS THAT WERE JUST TAKEN FOR THIS LISTING AND SHOW CURRENT CONDITION.Mechanically excellent. Rebuilt 289 V8. Starts easily, runs smoothly with no smoke or issues. With the McCulloch supercharger it is rated at 275 horsepower with 333 ft. pounds of torque. 0-60 in 7.8 seconds. Top speed 125 mph. 4-speed manual transmission shifts crisply. All gauges work and register accurately. Radial tires. Disc brakes stop smooth and straight. A real pleasure to drive. And yes, it's FAST.PLEASE SEE VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING. This car has been enjoyed and used regularly and well maintained with a large file of receipts from over the years. It has been shown and won multiple awards including a Division BEST IN SHOW at HOT AUGUST NIGHTS in Reno in 2016. It is only due to the passing of the owners that the family is offering it for sale. A realistic reserve has been placed on this car in keeping with its condition and rarity. Only 4,356 Supercharged Golden Hawks were made in 1957.
