VW Golf Mk2 1.8 GTI - 3 Door - Amazing Condition - Power Steering!

Up for sale is my beloved VW Golf Mk 2 GTI (1986 K-Jet Type 19)…the original mk 2 golf!!

I've been in ownership of this car now for 10+ amazing years! But nows the time to let it go as I no longer have any dry storage for it over the winter (the purchase of a VW Splitscreen has taken precedence in the garage space unfortunately).

There is literally ZERO rust on this car….it's in amazing condition and has had THOUSANDS spent on it over its lifetime! It's never been thrashed, it's never been driven hard (in my ownership), and it's always had what it's needed.

Comes with MOT and was serviced at its last MOT.

I have a huge file of receipts and history to come with the car…it literally dates back to 1986.

The car is strong through every gear, it pulls like a train and feels great. It has Power Steering which is brilliant and eclectic windows. The sunroof doesn't leak and shuts nice and tight.

The roof lining isn't sagging.

All tyres are in good condition as are the alloy wheels (not original as you can tell..but ive never got round to changing them).

The car sounds amazing, smells amazing (if you like the smell of classic cars) and drives amazing.

It's a real head turner and conversation starter if you're out on a drive somewhere nice.

I have a huge amount that I could write about this car…but it's truly best to be seen to be appreciated.

There is some areas that need attention (as with any car of this age). The drivers seat bolster is worn…it's still comfortable and useable hence why I never changed it, but it will need repairing to be made mint. There is a slight oil leak (just a few drops once the car is turned off), never enough for me to warrant getting it sorted or anything that the local garage has said needs attention…but again could be sorted. The dash light is intermittent sometimes on, sometimes not…again hasn't bothered me as it's never really been driven in the dark (it's only been out in the summer months). There is a couple of interior trim panels that need fitting back properly…but that's just time and finding the right clips to do the job. The door seals could also do with replacing also at some stage…still water tight, just a little old. And finally the gears are hard and tight…there isn't an issue with them, but it's not like driving a modern car so please don't come expecting it to be…this has all been noted in the pricing of the car.

Again there isn't a spot of rust on this car…it could do with a proper mop and buff to really make it shine, but it's an absolute minter on the exterior.

Such an appreciating classic and rare being the Type 19 K-Jet early mk 2 model (for those who need to know the obvious difference alongside the engine, this car comes with the quarter light windows on the doors…look at the wing mirrors and compare it to a later mk 2).

Looks, drives and sounds amazing! A real 80's hot hatch.

I've been as honest as I can and this car is truly amazing…worth every penny spent and every hour I've enjoyed driving it (smiling like a Cheshire Cat).
