1974 Toyota FJ Cruiser

 In 2018, I drove by a opened garage in Los Angles, California. I end up talking to a older gentlemen by the name Fredrick. He told me had no intentions on ever selling his FJ, owning it since new. He shared some of his favorite memories as he was apart of the defunct "Sareea Al Jamel 4 W.D Club". I left my phone number if he ever decided to sell it as he told me he would keep the number in the glove box. Fast forward 4 years later (June 2021), I received a phone call from a lady mentioning her brother left a detailed note with my number in the glove box of the Toyota. Sadly,he had recently passed away & finding the note mentioning if anything ever happened to him to sell the FJ40 to me. Photos above shows the way it sat since many years in the garaged. Covered in dust & dirt. Note the decals from the 70's Photo below proves the original Sales contract documenting the original owner & the registration renewal of 2021Both matching proving it to be a one owner from May of 1974 to June Of 2021 An original paint Rustic Green 1974 Toyota Fj40 with 75,900 original miles. Documented with original Sales Purchase Order & Disclosure statement. True California FJ with its original Blue plates. Spent its entire life in Los Angeles. It was modified in the 70's to Join the Famous Sareea Al Jamel 4 W.D Club. It attended a annual rock climbing 2 day camping trip in the California desert in Indio. A vintage article was written in Hot Rod magazine   A 70's Build with second day modifications - correct period. Decals showing parts could of been purchased from Downey Toyota Off Road Center in Downey, Calif.  Still remains the original engine (#F 525420) but modified Holly 350 Carburetor #7448, K&N air cleaner / filter Tri-Y Headers Dual Shock Suspension Custom Bolt In Roll BarVintage Armstrong Tru Trac Tires  8JJx15 Borlem NE WheelsRear Fender FlaresDayton Winch & Remote Carello Fog LampsVintage Soft Doors with Side PocketsThe Doors/hardtop/rear seats was removed in the 70'sThe way you see it is the way it left the 70'sAfter being pulled out of the garage, I had the Holley rebuilt & drained/replaced all the fluids. New battery & it fired right up. She runs - drives - shifts & brakes. Starts up one its cold, good running engine. Super solid original body with original paint. Clean California undercarriage including rockers & floors. Only spot I see is behind the spare wheel cover is a single rust crack. Body is straight with the normal dings, small baseball size dent near driver rocker. Looks like it might of happened on the trails. Driver/Passenger side of fender flares is cracked. New bikini SummerTop, I had the roll bar wrapped in custom vinyl zipper & seats redone. Original Toyota seat belts still in place. Overall, its original & should be kept in this condition. A built like this is hard to come by this days. Decals, tires & second day modifications make it unique nowadays. Original paint documented Fj40 same owner since 47 years to have been in a garage for so many years. Its not restored or ever has been, it original with wear & tear (dings, dents & scratches). It shakes, rattles & rolls for being a off road vehicle. After a few questions regarding the 4X4, I had it checked out. The 4WD is in working condition, has been tested. Also, the winch does work still but the wiring is old. Gotta wiggle it a bit but it works. I also found some old services records. One dating back to 1993, documenting it at 70,992. Recent one was before being parked as of 2007. Shows the original owner brakes was done at 75,784 at the local mechanic. In 28 years, it was driven about 5,000 miles. So, take it from there with proof - Dont bid at the last seconds, its not worth loosing out on!Highest Bid Takes It Home
