In June 1988. the Ministry of Defence commissioned an order
totalling £25 m for Reynolds Boughton to build 846 heavy duty
utility trucks. The RB 44 has a conventional ladder chassis and live
axles. Drive passes from the gearbox via a short propshaft to a
Reynold Boughton transfer case. thus using a full-time. four-wheel
drive system with diff lock. The transfer case has two power take
offs for driving auxiliary equipment.
The interior of the RB 44 is similar to a modern conventional van
with the exception of the additional controls for the four wheel
drive system. Sitting on 34 inch tyres. this is quite a large
vehicle with good ground clearance.

a 109 hp Perkins
diesel engine. the top speed is just under 70 miles per hour.

This is the general service version RB 44 featuring a canvas top. br/>drop tailgate and bench seating in the rear for six people. Put
into service on 27 th February 1992 and having covered only 3679
miles. this Reynolds Boughton RB 44 is available at a fraction of
the cost when new. Currently not registered for road use. the
necessary paperwork can be supplied to enable this to happen if
required.
