1973 VOLVO 1800ES AUTOMATIC - EX JIMMY TARBUCK, EXCEPTIONAL EXAMPLE P1800 P1800E for sale

1973 VOLVO 1800 ES - EX JIMMY TARBUCK
I am delighted to have recently purchased this excellent example of a Volvo 1800 es. It has had only 4 previous owners, the original owner being the comic Jimmy Tarbuck who famously owns the cherished numberplate “COM 1 C” . The vehicle was sold in 1979 and that owner kept it all the way up to 2015 , a staggering 36 years in his ownership! The car is an absolute credit to all of its custodians as its been extremely well looked after all its life.
The colour combination is a beautiful Ivory over pale blue leather interior with a contrasting black vinyl roof and sliding webasto sunroof also.
In the history folder is a copy of all the previous mot certificates, old v 5's and a full record of all previous owners from the DVLA, a newspaper article interviewing Jimmy Tarbuck about his cars, owners manuals and period sales brochures and various invoices documenting maintenance and refurbishment that has been completed over the years . There is a significant amount of expenditure that has been undertaken and included all the following works:
new fuel tank
new fuel pump
new fuel gauge element
stainless steel exhaust
new battery
radiator recored
heater matrix reconditioned
new water pump
fan belt
auxiliary air regulator
new trigger contacts to distributor
new air filters
replace master cylinder
new brake calipers
brake hoses all round
new door rubbers
new cylinder locks
replace headlights
new tailgate struts
fuel tune up at Volvo
All these works were only completed 3 years ago so the car remains an exceptionally well cared for example in superb driving order and cosmetic condition , the current mileage is just 96000 .
