Welcome to the sale of our vintage VW camper converted to a milkshake and ice cream bar. It started life as a 1974 VW bay window camper, and was converted around 12 years ago with a serving hatch and stainess surfaces, wipe down internal walls and rubber floor. The previous owner wanted to use her in a shopping centre, so removed the engine, gearbox, drive shafts and other oily bits, and cut most of the wiring. We purchased her around three years ago, intending to add her to our festival circuit (we trade at events and festivals with a non food stall). We had the canopy and frame custom made, and bought the kit you see inside, then laid a new floor, LED lighting, purchased the prep stall behind, and all the display items. Over the next 12 months I sourced and fitted a 2 l VW aircooled engine and gearbox, so the bus now does drive, although it needs a tune and isn't really suitable to drive long distances. It's perfectly ok however manouvering around a festival field. To solve the transport problem we purchased a fantastic trailer which is galvanised, fully braked, and works fine. We also added an ice cream tricycle with parasol and two Wall's low energy freezers, so you have two revenue streams possible. The prep tent at the back is intended to be used for food, as we planned to offer waffles and crepes too, but never got round to sourcing the kit.The bus is tax exempt and we have the V 5, and original plates. There is some rust underneath which you'd need to sort if you plan to drive it on a public highway, but the bodywork is solid and there are no external rust issues. The metallic red paint looks amazing in the sun! The sliding door works as it should, and all doors open and close properly. Brakes work fine and tyres are almost new. Wiring is a bit of a nightmare, but it's not a difficult problem to solve and it doesn't affect the running of the bus. Inside the bus there are stainless tables, two sinks with a flexible waste pipe that vents to outside the bus, a water heater, 240 v mains system with external hook up hidden under the bus, 12 v LED lighting, and rubber floor. There's enough space inside for all the kit pictured plus a small freezer and fridge, which are not in the images but are included in the sale. We own the domain name hippyhippyshake.co.uk which will go with the bus. Included in the sale are:- The 1974 VW camper- Jotawerk galvanised 4 wheel braked trailer with hand winch (not necessary to load the van as it drives on)- Custom made commercial grade canopy- Prep stall behind- frame and tarpaulin- Ice Cream tricyle- 2 x Wall's low energy freezers- 1 x small front opening freezer (not in pictures)- 1 x small front opening fridge (not in pictures)- 1 x Hamilton Beach professional milkshake blender with three wands and 5 stainless cups- 1 x Pro Blend touch professional milkshake blender- 1 x reserve milk shake blender- 1 x almost new gas Parry water boiler plus gas bottle- 2 x milk churns, a box of smaller stainless mini churns, and assorted decorations- 1 x large light box for menus etc- 1 x 25 m 32 a mains cable- Custom made roof cover- Lots and lots of accessories- cups, straws, market clamps, ratchet load straps, rose decorations, safety kit, 240 v 25 m 32 a cable, heavy duty gazebo lighting, and more. This really is a ready made opportunity for someone and potentially could bring in a good income. We're selling because over lockdown we were forced to diversify to stay afloat and our new business is really taking off, so we don't have time to devote to this any more. The van alone is a great investment as they are appreciating in value all the time, and she's a perfect vehicle for custom car shows, VW rallies, steam fairs, etc. Competition for stalls at these events is high, so having a unique classic vehicle as a stall definitely helps when applying! All the accessories, awnings, frames, freezers and trike fit either in the bus or in a VW transporter we use to pull it so you don't need a huge towing vehicle. I've lots more photos, and a walk round video. Please ask for more information if you're interested. If you're interested, please make contact, and we can have a chat.
