MK1 VW Golf 1.6 GTI in Mars red.Complete restoration to the body 12 years ago, engine was lightly overhauled at the same time with a new clutch, oil seals, head gasket change, and a stainless exhaust manifold. It also has a semi sports exhaust fitted, Miltek from memory.The interior is completely original and in very good condition considering it's 40 years old, however there is a tiny tear in the fabric of the rear seat which can be seen in picture 6 buy the seat belt buckle, and the seats really need a good clean, no staining just dusty really.The engine bay is not as sharp as it was a few years ago and really needs a few hours cleaning and polishing bits and bobs.The reason I am selling is simple, I lost my purpose built workshop to my stepson a couple of years ago and I was relegated to a small single garage seen in the pictures, however this garage isn't that good and far from ideal for a classic car, it leaks, spiders treat it as a holiday camp, the bloody cat sits on it, and I just became a bit heartbroken, and so I basically have given up on it.I have this morning got it out and spent an hour or so giving it a reasonable clean and light polish, and as you can see she looks great.I have been as honest as I can in the description, but viewing is recommended, I will not take silly offers, nor do I want to swap it for anything, this has more potential left in it but due to the fact I want it gone along with the small list of faults, I think the price to be fair.
