Welcome to the listing of my 1972 VW bug 1600 single port with adjustable front beam.

I've owned the bug since 2015 and purchased it as a project to get it looking exactly as I liked. The reason for purchasing this beetle was because the engine sounded good and strong with no end float and had recently been replaced.

Overall the bug was pretty solid when I got it, floor pan and heater channels were all good but it did need a bit of welding around the rear inner wheel arches which I had done professionally, all the minor welding jobs I did myself.

Here is a build diary which has a stack more photos in https://1972vwbug.blogspot.com/2021/06/1972-vw-bug-build-diary.html

This is a list of things that have been done since my ownership;

New rubber SAE J30 fuel hoses and installed fuel filterNew filler neck and breather pipesNew drum brakes, bearings and hubsNew fuel pumpNew Generator regulator and starter motorNew temperature sensor and installed a temperature sensor dipstickNew running boardsNew towel rail bumpersNew exterior chrome partsNew chrome roof rack with cherry red slatsNew rear window blindCarb cleaned and new jets installedPlenty of servicing carried out with new points and plugsNew wingsInterior completely stripped out, floor pan painted, interior resprayNew carpets, custom door cards, cushions and parcel shelf with 6x9s hidden underneathNew stereo with Bluetooth and handsfree callingWheels powder coated and the rears banded by 2"Any small bits of rust cut out and replaced with new metalThe rear dropped down by 1 spline. The front is on adjusters

Here is a walk-around video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqXi2QSVvIY. She isn't perfect and still has a few minor scabs that I hadn't got round to sorting but nothing major and she presents very well compared to most bugs you see.

The bug will come with 12 months MOT, It doesn't need one but thought I would take it to a VW specialist to check it over and give it a years ticket for peace of mind. I have also got them to adjust the clutch and balance the brakes so she will be totally ready for the next owner.

The plan was to add an air ride system all round, add a safari windscreen and tackle all the remaining little bits of bodywork left but I haven't really used the car as much as I thought I would and I need the space back in the garage.

Since my ownership the car hasn't seen a wet day and is always stored in a dry garage and covered so it doesn't get knocked. Any questions just call or text me on 07946461904.

Cheers,

Dan.
