This classic 1960 GMC 1/2-ton Fleetside long box pickup was purchased new in Ogden, Utah. Later on the original owner sold it to his son in Montana. My father was the third owner and he purchased the truck in 1988. The original invoice (copy) is included.
When I got the truck a few years ago, I wanted to do as much as possible to take it back to its original condition.
The truck was in need of light body work and a paint job. It had rust in the usual places -- front fenders, rocker panels, etc. We put in new sheet metal for the rocker panels and purchased replacement fenders.Paint is the original Capebluewith Olympic white trim.
Montana is pretty dry so there wasn't much surface rust as an issue. I was lucky to find several NOS parts includingafront park lamp in the original GMC box.Original GMC dealer installed hood ornament. This was only available for 1960 - 61 as a dealer installed option.
This truck has the original stock engine – 305 A V 6 designed by GMC with 4 speed. Engine runs like a charm. It only has 130,000 miles, uses no oil and has never been overhauled. It has the 3.07:1 locking differential rear end. Drives very well at 60 mph.
New bed installed during restoration - stock hard-pine boards with new hardware. New steering components installed. LED tail lamps. Recently serviced and thoroughly inspected.Stored inside.
Many photos and video also available.
