1927 Rolls-Royce Other for sale
Current customer rating:
This 1927 Rolls-Royce Twenty features wood shooting brake coachwork and received a multi-year restoration. The car is finished in green with black fenders and is powered by a 3.1-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes brown leather seats, a fender-mounted spare wheel, trafficators, painted wire wheels, ambulance-style rear doors, a windshield wiper, and sliding front door and side windows. It spent time in Virginia before being acquired by the seller in Massachusetts approximately seven years ago. This Twenty is now offered with restoration records and photos, period-style luggage, and a Massachusetts title in the seller's name.
The exterior features wood shooting brake bodywork with a hood and cowl finished in Deep Brunswick Green, along with black fenders and a leather roof. The car is equipped with running boards, trafficators, a windshield wiper, and a Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament. The woodwork was replaced and the metal bodywork and chassis were refinished by Smittie's Classy Chassies of Bluemont, Virginia in the early 1990 s. Records and photos from the restoration process are viewable in the gallery below.
Green-painted 21″ wire wheels are wrapped in 6.00-21 Lester Six-Ply tires, and a matching spare is mounted on the passenger-side fender. The car is equipped with four-wheel drum brakes.
The right-hand-drive cabin features brown leather bench seats along with wood door panels, stained wood floors, and a carpeted rear cargo area. Period-style luggage is included, and the car is equipped with sliding front door and rear side windows.
The four-spoke steering wheel features controls for the throttle, starting carburetor, and ignition advance/retard. A floor-mounted shifter is located to the driver's right, and instrumentation houses in the unpainted metal dash panel includes an 80-mph speedometer and a five-digit odometer that shows 35 k miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.1-liter inline-six is fed via a side draft carburetor and was refreshed by Motorcar Garage of Hamilton, Virginia during the restoration. More recent work in 2014 consisted of coolant system repairs, a carburetor cleaning, and replacement of the generator and starter.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Additional underside photos are available in the gallery.
Several photos from various stages of the restoration are also included below, along with receipts and spreadsheets of work.
