This vehicle has not been outdoors atotal of five hours since 1958. It was placed in a garage without anengine and was being customized in style with the times. Three of thefenders were leaded. A '55 Olds taillight was also leaded into theleft rear. Part of the car was shot with lacquer before the ownermoved away and on to other things. The car sat in the garage until 1987 when I obtained it. Cats had destroyed the interior and top, butthe frame and sheet metal were fantastic. I welded in a Heidts Mustang II Independent Front Suspension with a new rack and pinion, a'73 Apollo rear and set it up for a 350. Then life and other projectsgot in the way. It has been sitting for years... Always indoors. I dobelieve I have all of the moldings. The glass is intact. Have acorrect taillight to replace the Olds, headlight buckets, extra dash,grill pieces and rough door panels. Included is a GM steering columnand some late model seats I was going to use, but I don't rememberfrom what. Sitting with a mock up 350 and a temporary exhaust. Somebrake lines in place, but still needs a booster and pedal setup. Thefirewall needs some clearance work. Yes it's a project, but it has aton of potential. '46 - '48 Mercs look great when completed and a guy couldn't ask for better metal to workwith.
