I am not a car dealer. Using 'classified ad' seems to be the best option for selling cars on Ebay.

After 8 years I am having to part with my Bertie Beetle. Reason? He hardly gets used any more. I regularly used to drive him to a previous job, which meant a great 52 mile round trip through the Cotswolds. But I now work much closer to home, and he spends too much time sitting in the garage.

Heads still turn, and people still ask if I can 'do' weddings. He looks good, and sounds great with the 'zoom tube' on the back.

Tax and MOT exempt. I did have an MOT done before listing and some welding was needed, plus a new brake pipe. All sorted. MOT expires next July. V5 all present and correct.

A selection of documents, but not extensive.

Solid on top and underneath.

Seats and carpets good.

A Historic Vehicle, at 50 years old there are a few issues. A new roof was put on last year, but the window has not been installed and some other parts need adding to complete. The lining needs finishing.

Some of the rubber (trim) seals are worn.

There is no heating - I never used it because the top was ALWAYS down - and the pipework for same is missing.

The rear off-side window needs repair.

I doubt anyone could guarantee if all the parts on him now were there when he was originally built.

Seats and carpets are all good.

No obvious rot or rust. I did Waxoyl as much as I could reach with the sprayer a couple of years ago.

The paint is OK, but does not stand up to close scrutiny.

The radio does not work - you probably wouldn't be able to hear it anyway.

So, he runs well, is road legal, pulls well and is great fun to drive. But there are a number of cosmetic jobs which need doing, so he is what I would call a 'light project'. A purist, or Vee Dub petrol head may have a different point of view. But, he is perfectly usable as he stands. I am not going to claim he is concourse or show class material.

I do have a price in mind which I think is reasonable. If paying by cheque or bankers' draft, these must fully clear before the car will be released.

Please message through Ebay. Feel free to view by arrangement, before buying.

Included is a box of spares, as shown.
