Finished in correct Mimosa yellow, this Triumph GT 6 MKIII with overdrive has undergone an extensive recommissioning here at JK Classics. On arrival this MKIII was in respectable condition but as work progressed we discovered we would need to go a little bit deeper with our work. As we had to essentially get back to bare metal we decided to revert to the original Mimosa yellow after all of our bodywork was completed (pictures available on request) Mechanically we fully stripped and rebuilt the 2 litre straight 6 engine. As the engine was a 10,000 mile old reconditioned Rimmers exchange unit we found nothing untoward so we refreshed the engine with new gaskets and a fresh coat of paint. At this time a new clutch kit was also fitted. Suspension all round was stripped and rebuilt, including the fitting of a new rear independent swing spring (correct for MKIII), while the brakes overhaul included all new discs, pads and calipers. The original wheels were refurbished and fitted with new Hanko tyres. The interior was in very good condition and only required a new headlining. while the dash was out as we were checking all wiring we took the decision to refurbish it. After all this work we are left with an undeniably impressive example of the car that was built as 'The UK's answer to the Ford Mustang'. This truly is a car that needs to be seen to be believed and as always our door is open for viewing via phone appointment/e-mail.
