Back to 1969, a fantastic year for the car industry and especially for the Ford Mustang. With the Mach 1 Ford offered an iconic version for performance oriented customers that was available with several engine options. The 428 SCJ was first introduced during the 1969 model year. Mustang buyers who selected either of the optional 3.91:1 or 4.30:1 rear end gear ratios got more than just an optional axle ratio! Ordering either of these axle ratio options commonly triggered a few other upgrades as well, including the 428 Super Cobra Jet engine, an external oil cooler mounted in front of the radiator, and relocation of the driver's side horn to the passenger side of the radiator core support to make room for the oil cooler. Starting in February 1969 this complete package could be ordered as the "Drag Pack" option. Note that it was not thought to be possible to order an SCJ engine by itself - the only way to get your hands on an SCJ in a Mustang was to order the optional 3.91:1 or 4.30:1 rear end gear ratios.
This stunning unrestored example is offered with 54,100 mls in fantastic condition. She is equipped with the 3,91 rear axle the factory oil cooler as part of tghe Drag Pack. The Mach 1 was repainted in the original Wimbledon White several years ago, and other than that just well maintained and carefully enjoyed. Both engine and transmission run and shift flawlessly and crank out a tremendous amount of torque to the wheels. The interior is in beautiful shape with no rips or tears as you can see in the pictures.
She is sitting on a new set of Good Year Polyglas GTs and is ready for the next adventure.
We know that everything look good in pictures but this Mustang will exceed your expectations when you see it in real life, give it a try!

About Vintage Planet
Vintage planet is a passion driven business founded by Robert Hall and Marcus Heurich.
Marcus grew up in a small town in Bavaria driving German cars but dreaming of owning American muscle cars and living in the US. Robert grew up in a small town in Tennessee driving German cars and dreaming of running flat-out on the Autobahn in Bavaria!
Not too long ago fate brought these two gearheads together. Well it wasn't actually fate it was Craigslist! Marcus and his wife Christina were in Tennessee looking for some classic American iron when they found Robert's ad for a 1963 Buick Electra 225. Within a few short hours Marcus was introduced to Arnold Palmer ice tea and the groundwork was laid for Vintage Planet!
These two brothers from another mother quickly realized they had very similar taste in cars, Motorsports and military aircraft, so with this much in common how could they possibly not just go all in and start a business buying, selling, servicing and consigning classic and specialty cars.
For several years Marcus operated his business in Bavaria and Robert has owned and operated American Powertrain and The Driven Man in Tennessee. In 2018 these businesses move into a multi building location just off of I-40 exit 290 in Cookeville Tennessee.
Cookeville may not be the obvious hub of classic car activity, but it is within a day's Drive of the majority of the population of the Eastern US. The location right up against I-40 means the directions to Los Angeles are simply “turn left out of the driveway, take your first right and your first left. Go to the end of the road and that's LA!”
Whether you're buying your first classic car or your 100 th you'll enjoy working with Vintage Planet.
If you are selling a prized family heirloom or just thinning out your collection you will appreciate the aimiable respect and professionalism delivered by Vintage Planet in each and every one of their consignment situations.
The Vintage Planet staff know a well-maintained classic car is a joy to own and drive, but a poorly maintained one is a burden to own, and that is why Vintage Planet service center exists. Whether your car needs just a tune up or if it has been sitting for years and needs a thorough resurrecting you will find what you need in Vintage Planet's 12,000 square foot climate controlled garage.
Whether you are buying, selling or maintaining a classic or specialty car Vintage Planet has what you're looking for.
Be bold. Drive old, and we hope to see you soon!
