This is quite possibly the finest example of a split-screen Morris Minor in existence. As the images show, it is in concourse condition and has won several awards and is likely to continue doing so. Believe it or not the photographs don't do the car justice – it really needs to be seen up close to be appreciated. There is simply not one mark on the car.
Extremely rarely found in such condition, the engine bay, for example, is as new. There is not one speck of dust, let alone rust, to be seen under the bonnet.
The mechanicals themselves are in just as good condition as the rest of the car. The four-cylinder overhead valve A-series engine had been substantially redesigned for these new Series II Minors, along with the gearbox, propshaft, differential and axle casing. All of this boosted performance significantly, and ride quality was further enhanced by rack-and-pinion steering and independent front suspension.
The four-speed gearbox delivers smooth and precise gearchanges, and all in all, the engine, gearbox, suspension, and this stylish classic interior combine to give a classic car experience unmatched in all but the very best restored classic cars.
This example is a true enthusiast's car – it looks like it just left the factory, it drives like it just left the factory, and best of all, it feels like it just left the factory! Every last bit of this car is in immaculate condition, inside and out.
The car is accompanied by a huge history file including documentation of its prize-winning exploits.
The odometer is displaying a very likely genuine 18,000 miles. Needless to say the 800cc engine, gearbox and running gear all perform flawlessly.
With surviving examples of Morris Minors in general rapidly rising in value, and with it being such an iconic car, this gem is a rock solid investment. A true show-stopper, this car will make whoever buys it very happy and justifiably proud. Anyone looking for a Morris Minor of this quality really ought to give this car a closer look.
