Here we have for sale my extremely rare BMW E34 525IX.

These cars are rarer than m3's m5's with only 9400 cars being produced worldwide back in the early 90's and most being long gone, only 6 of this model of car are on the road today!

I bought it as I always lusted after the 4x4 model thinking it would be the perfect winter car however as per usual too many projects etc so I'm seeing if there is any interest before I get into repairing it further.

Its a 2 owner from new car (me excluded) I have all the handbooks and service book including the original salesman card and keyring from the garage it was purchased at.

As you would expect of a car of this age and rarity the floor pans will need repair, I have purchased the replacement section from E34 specialists (in post on way included in sale), its a pretty easy repair as when the seats are out it is right there, the arches have been rust treated and touched in, the main section of the arch is solid it will just require surfacing and paint to make good. There is a perforation on the passenger side lower arch, again an easy enough repair as it is a small panel.

There are a few areas on the bottoms of the doors which will need attention, again these have been treated and touched in (none perforated).

The bonnet needs aligning to make perfect and the front edge lets its down, front bumper has been repainted at some point, the missing towing eye cover has a replacement in the boot as are the new kidney grilles.

The main body polished up well however will need a good few goings over to keep the shine, local paint repairs are needed rather than a whole repaint.

This car is top spec I don't think there is an extra it doesn't have.

To list some of the features of the car:

panoramic roof (tilts but needs freeing up to go back, and head lining has come away where I've been trying to move it)

full leather (expected wear on drivers seat)

electric memory front seats (they all work)

electric steering column (works)

cruise control (works)

split rear tail gate (all works)

tilting passenger side mirror when in reverse

in car phone kit (no idea if it works but it looks cool)

four electric windows (all work)

m tec body kit and suspension (don't hold me to it as information is tricky to find exactly which one it is)

retractable dog guard

retractable load cover

untouched original toolkit

Dual zone climate control (will need a regas at least)

computer

self leveling suspension (weep from rear shocks they are serviceable and needs a bleed)

M tec 2 leather steering wheel (£300 alone)

All five original alloys present (these are specific to this car due to the offset)

Standard catalytic converters present (these are huge money and most have been robbed)

standard exhaust (slight rattle when cold but goes away when hot)

spares included in boot

When I got the car it didn't move and was in a sorry state, since then I overhauled the gearbox changed the filter and refilled with fresh fluid, it now drives beautifully as you would expect a BMW automatic to.

Power steering was non functional however a top up of the fluid (its a special hydraulic fluid) and a bleed of it has seen it work again.

Radiator bleed screw was a touch chewed up and it was leaking, I have fixed it however it could do with a better fix or a fresh radiator (I'd probably just change the rad).

Idle valve was sticking so that was removed and freed up.

Mechanically the car drives really nicely, the engine sounds smooth with no noises and pulls well, there will be an amount of recommissioning to do as expected as it was last motd in 2013.

With a specialist car like this inspection is a must and is welcome, cars like this are getting very thin on the ground which can be a rolling restoration yet ooze 90's nostalgia
