I got my dream car. (this first generation Cougar) in 2013 and I simply don't have time to drive it enough. It was mechanically rebuilt at about 100 K mi and had about 5000 mi on rebuild when I got it. The odo now reads just shy of 7500. I have all the paperwork from the mechanical work done which includes engine. transmission. new floor pans. alum. radiator/fan. gauges. top. seat covers. carpet. Vintage Air. CD/radio and more. It has had an original color paintjob at some point as well. but not sure when. The car really turns heads. but the most important thing is you can't help but smile when you drive it. It has been a good driver. starts up every time for me and does not leave little puddles of anything on the garage floor. But no. its not perfect. Many of the cosmetics are "survivor" status and panel fits could use perfecting if you are a super detail guy/gal. What I like best is that the work done has not "muddled" the car's original look and feel. I added power brakes for safety and it has seatbelts added. I have original wheels and hubcaps as well as some other original parts and pieces. I also have full set of repair manuals. user manual and title is clear. I can share many more pics and video and scans of repair work if you are interested. This car is the perfect mix of "lovely" and "badass"!
