This is a very original. very clean and well maintained 1972 350SL.  The colour combination is beautiful and gathers plenty of remarks. unlike a lot of other Mercedes of this body shape. this is the only year that can be considered a classic. It looks great with the small euro bumpers. and is currently my daily drive.  I have driven this car to Palm Springs from LA a number of times without fault. it also handles the LA rush hour traffic really well! It has factory air conditioning. that actually works.  It does not however blow hot air.  I live in California. I haven't fixed it.  I rarely put the top up. but that works too and is in great shape  There is a little bit of a scuff on the soft top. but no rips or tears.  I recently had new carpet fitted as the old carpet was looking a little tired and sun bleached.  The dash is not cracked! No cracks.  I also recently had the high pressure oil pipes replaced. so no leaks or drips.  Gearbox is in good shape with lots of life left. changing from drive into reverse promptly. pulling strongly through the gears.  I have the hard top. it does however have a chip the size of a quarter out of the leading edge.  It came with the car. I took it off and it sat in the garage since then and has since got chipped.  There is no rear seat in this car. however a friend of mine with an upholstery shop can fit a rear jump seat for $450.  A bit more about the engine. the timing belt tensioner was changed. new filters. oil etc. Basically all perishables have been changed. along with a new brake master cylinder.  This car has been maintained by a reputable. German Mercedes mechanic.  Nothing has been overlooked.  This car stops and goes. turns. cools and signals.  The passenger side window has stopped going up and down! I haven't got around to fixing it yet. only because taking the door cards off is quite tedious. but I'm happy to have a look if it sells.
I'm selling this car because I now have more money and I want to buy a Porsche 912.
