1984 Nissan 300ZX GLL for sale
Current customer rating:
Here's a stunning example of a well preserved Japanese Classic Sport Car. The 1984 Datsun Nissan 300 ZX Turbo was the first year of the 300 ZX and the first year Datsun changed their brand name to Nissan in the USA. The 300 ZX is equipped with a 3. 0 Liter Turbocharged V 6 producing 200 Horsepower and 227 lb-ft of torque. The Garrett T 3 Turbo puts out 6. 8 psi of boost for lightning fast turbo response and minimal lag. It was the fastest Japanese import of it's time and has one of the toughest most reliable engines ever designed by Nissan.
When I first bought this 300 ZX. I went through the whole car and replaced the timing belt. belt tensioner. drive belts. cam seals. studs. washers. water pump. rebuilt the alternator (not remanufactured in a cheap China shop). changed the transmission fluid with API GL-4 80 w-90 gear oil. replaced the PCV valve and PCV valve hose. converted the A/C from R-12 to R-134. replaced battery hold down bracket. replaced battery connection terminals. repaired and regreased passenger side half shaft. and had a four tire rotation and balance performed. the P 215/60 R 15 tires are in good condition with more than 6/32 of tread life left. the vehicle was inspected by Nissan and no major issues were found. there are no visible leaks and the brakes are in good condition.
The car shifts smoothly through all gears. clutch is good with no chatter or excessive free play. steering and suspension are tight. still has the OEM adjustable shocks which can be set to S. and F for soft. normal. and firm. the car is stock except for a K&N cone filter which improves throttle response and a 3" stainless steel intake tube. I still have the stock air box and resonator if the buyer wants them.
Body is straight and it has not been in an accident. turbo graphics are still in tact and not peeling. paint is shiny and clear coat is not faded. all lights are in working order.
There are a few items that require attention. the driver side headlight cover needs to be replaced as the two securing tabs are broken (I have a replacement headlight cover ready to be installed). fuel gauge work intermittently on the digital dash. this has to do with the power supply unit located underneath the dash. I know someone who repairs them. the factory radio works which is rare. but it could use a set of new speakers. although the A/C has been recharged and retrofitted to R-134. it is not currently working because a vacuum line will need to be replaced. These problems are to be expected for a car of this age. it's not perfect but it's a very nice car and welcome addition to any collection. the interior is near perfect and there's not a crack in the leather seats. the headliner is in tact and not sagging like on most of these cars. these cars are getting harder and harder to find in this condition.
Why get a Porsche or Corvette when you can have one of these for a fraction of the cost and look that much cooler?
