Exquisite 1964 VW Bug

Today you have a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase this exquisite 1964 VW Bug. This original and pristine vehicle has been in my family since new. It has just recently undergone a body. interior. and mechanical restoration. The exterior has undergone a two stage paint process bringing it back to better than OEM standards at a cost of over $5. 00. 00. The undercarriage is original German and is without holes. patches. cutting and/or welding. This vehicle retains the original German chrome bumpers (not the Vietnamese or Chinese replacement chrome) that have been triple plate chromed by So California's premiere chrome shop: The Bumper Shop in Los Angeles. The window and body seals are also German. not the cheap replacement ones. and even the original mud flaps have been retained!!! The interior – seats. headliner. side panels. and carpet have been completely redone at a cost of over $3. 00. The carpet is the good. German square weave. that has been expertly hand cut and installed by the finest restoration shop in San Diego County: SOS Customz. The upholstery has been hand stitched and the seat frames underwent a restoration themselves. Foam. not straw. was used to add years of comfort and durability. No cheap interior carpet or pre-made upholstery kits were used.

The original Sapphire II radio is retained and works along with the original wiper and light knobs each knob showing the beautiful and original patina.

Mechanically . the Bug is in superb condition. With a little over 75. 00 original. ACTUAL miles…yes. that's right. ACTUAL miles. not a rollover. the engine hums and runs better than a Rolex!! In 1982. the 1200 cc original engine was rebuilt and in 1984. the bug was put into storage and stayed in storage until 2012. From 1982 to 1984. less than 1500 miles was driven on the rebuilt engine. As part of the mechanical restoration. the breaks were rebuilt. new brakes lines added. the gas tank was cleaned and sealed new fuel lines. new shocks. new tie rods. new carburetor. new fuel pump. new starter. a general tune up. new generator belt. and an overall detail was completed. The bug fires up. runs well. and shifts into all gears with ease. The original transmission is retained and is in outstanding operating condition. The car does not pull or fade when breaking. The original jack is included along with the original tool kit bag (the tools in the bag are a very good tool reproduction). This 1964 VW Bug is an excellent (6) Volt bug that has not been pimped out. modified. chopped. or abused. Clean CA title. This VW will be an excellent back-up car for the family and if you have a teenage daughter. I can promise you (although not guaranteed). that she will not get a speeding ticket while driving it!
