1972 Scout ii 4x2 for sale
Current customer rating: (489 votes ) based on1972 Scout ii 4x2. Extremely clean Scout that spent the first 32 years of its life in South Georgia. You would be hard pressed to find a Scout that is in this condition. In 2010 I replaced the original 304 with a rebuilt 5. 7 Hemi with a XV Motorsports carb conversion kit. Yes this late model Hemi uses a Holley carb. Ignition is handled via MSD control box. I had the factory transmission rebuilt and at the same time switched out the IH front section for the Mopar bolt pattern. The rear factory cross member was used if you wanted to switch back to IH power. Front motor mounts will need to re-installed. I spent over 18 months completing this conversion and did not cut any corners. Truck averages about 17mpg with A/C on. Aluminum radiator keeps everything cool. New Hydro-Boost brake booster. 20x8. 5 steel wheels with 255/50/20 Michelin tires. The AM/FM radio was recently refurbished to factory specs. The center console is not factory and is not bolted down but will be included. Interior is in good shape. The passenger seating section shows some wear and the passenger side carpet area is wearing. This truck is a joy to drive. If I used it more it would not be for sale. I will try and answer all questions as quickly as I can . Questions regarding the reserve will not be answered. Bid to win. Not willing to trade. Title in hand.
I have the following extra parts that will be included.
1. Body mount bushing kit
2. Factory wheels
3. Extra set of tail light lenses.
4. 2 factory AM radios
On Nov-03-13 at 14:47:44 PST. seller added the following information:
I have added 4 additional pics of the 1 area on the body that will need attention at some point. It has been the same since I've owned truck. It is an area of surface rust on passenger side of windshield frame. The windshield gasket will need to be removed to repair correctly. The pics I added are taken from as close as 1" to a distance from the radio antenna.
Exhaust is a 2 into1 running through a dynamax large oval muffler and single 3" out. Exhaust new with motor conversion.
The only thing I will do if truck does not sell is spend a day at the dyno fine tuning the jets. I had XV set the base when I order the kit and it performs well. I just think there is some more power in there.
I will add that if you are the high bidder and pick up in person and this truck is not as described I will refund all deposits minus $100 to cover listing fees. This only applies if you pick Scout up at my location.
On Nov-04-13 at 14:25:38 PST. seller added the following information:I've added a few pics to show the underside of the Scout. This Scout is very solid. These were taken in my garage tonight. In the one photo you can see the new poly tank. Tank is about 1 year old.

Comments and questions to the seller:
from Chris, dated 29 october 2019Hi, I have seen your Scout elsewhere online. It has inspired my build. I have a 77 and have purchased a 5.7 Hemi as well. I hope this is a good way to reach out to you with questions and that you would be willing to answer a few.
Thanks,
Chris
