For sale is a meticulously maintained. complete and fully functional 1984 Porsche 944 in glossy black with the original 'cookie cutter' Porsche branded wheels. This is a vintage German sportscar that comes with all the trimmings galvanized steel body. rear wheel drive. solid 5 speed manual transmission. independent suspension at all 4 wheels. 2. 5 L 4 cylinder. disc brakes all around. and front-engine/rear-trans layout (50/50 weight distribution) with a top speed of 137 MPH.

This specific car is smoke-free and pet-free very allergy friendly.

Since acquiring this car. I have gotten a reputation around town for having such an interesting car. There's something about the brand name Porsche that absolutely turns heads wherever I go. and let me tell you. it's a great feeling.

Throughout this ad. I'll go through each system so you know what to expect when you test drive this car out.

Engine:
-New ignition system (upgraded spark plug cables. brand new spark plugs. new cap and rotor from Germany)
-Fuel injected for higher efficiency. individual air intakes on manifold
-Timing belt done in '08. less than 10 K miles on it
-Has only used fully Synthetic oil. K&N filter currently installed
-Does NOT burn oil/antifreeze. head gasket fully functional

Fuel & Exhaust:
-No longer legally requires emissions tests. documentation will come with car
-Only uses High grade fuel. preferably Shell V-Power
-Beefy muffler sounds great and in great shape
-No smoke

Manual Transmission & Clutch:
-New clutch in '08. less than 10 K miles on it. fast sport response with no slipping
-5 speed with upgraded shifter and boot
-Transmission was designed to handle twice the output of the engine. rock-solid
-Car starts without pressing clutch

Electrical:
-All lights work properly. pop-up hood lights
-Aftermarket stereo with Aux-in cable. upgraded Polk Audio speakers
-Tachometer periodically works. Odometer stopped working (common issue. doesn't affect performance) all other gauges (speed. temperature. gas. dash lights. oil pressure and analog clock) work as they should
-Heat works great. A/C works but needs a recharge
-Recent: Passenger Side window stuck while down. I have lowered price on car in order for new buyer to repair

Body:
-New driver side door handle
-Galvanized steel body. paint is still in excellent condition. no rust
-Freshly waxed. garage kept. has never seen snow
-Sunroof. removable for long windy drives
-Rear wiper doesn't work. not sure why
-Under body has next to no rust. great shape. unlike most Chicago cars!
-No dents. no dings. no scratches. no rust

Brakes. Steering and Suspension:
-Upgraded Sport steering wheel (sourced from official Porsche catalog)
-New rear brake pads installed a few days ago. excellent stopping power
-Power steering. built for excellent handling

Interior:
-New dashboard. no cracks
-Very clean. vacuumed regularly
-Has matching seat covers installed
-Power windows. power mirrors. alarm
-Pinstripe door panels for a classic look. minor sun spots
-Overall good clean interior

This car has only been summer driven. has never seen snow. and has next to no rust on the underbody. Faster than a Camaro of the same year and still gets 30 MPG Hwy. In 1984. Car and Driver named the 944 the Best Handling Production Car in America. This Porsche has 119 K miles. and Porsche has an excellent reputation from making engines last over 400 K.

Idles excellent at . 8 RPM. And it qualifies for Antique license plates (in Illinois) for $12!
