MG Montego Turbo
These are very rare cars now. when did you last see one? I've owned Monty for a couple of years and its been a joy to live with. Its honestly never not started which some might find hard to believe. Covered around 86 k miles. The engine is very good. no smoke from the turbo either. oil is still clear on the dipstick. Drips a bit from the O ring oil feed to the head which I'm told is extremely common on these engines and they practicality all do it. The car has had some restoration work obviously by looking at it. The standard or work is ok. some areas are not great and would benefit from being sorted if your that way inclined or just enjoy the car 'as is' like I have done. Electrics all work including the sunroof and windows.
The car drives very well. It pulls like a train and in its day put quite a few noses out of joint as it left them standing at the lights. The Turbo on this car is very good and runs really clean. Interior isn't bad for its age. drivers bolster has had a repair at some point. back seats are very good and could probably tell a tale or two if they could talk as these cars were often owned by MD's and I'm sure Stacey from accounts was offered a 'lift home' on many an occasion and probably jumped at the chance to go for a spin in what was a very quick car in its day.
This car is not concourse or pristine and is not being sold as such. Its not a show queen either but it is a very clean example of an ultra rare car that was once so uncool its now cool again. There are just a handful left and because of this like all modern classics the value is only going one way. If you fancy a blast in a 90's classic and enjoy a bit of depreciation free motoring like I have then Monty might be the one for you.
