Current customer rating:
This car was originally an home market car and remained in England with the original family until 2002 when it was imported to the USA. I am the second owner in the US and have had the car for 9 years. It retains the original 1098 A-series engine and 4-speed manual transmission.
This is a very solid reliable car that drives great. There has been a good amount of maintenance lately including a rebuild of the entire brake system. 5 new tires. rebuilt front suspension with new bushings and an electronic distributor & alternator conversion (original parts included). However. it is a bit needy in the cosmetics department: the vinyl interior is faded and the seats are worn. the rear bumper was bent by a careless parallel parker and the paint is a bit thin and crazing in some spots. The driver's vent window hinge is broken. There are a few spots of rust around the rear wheel arches but nothing all the way through and no rust on the undercarriage. I have a binder full of receipts and service records that date back to it's USA importation in 2002. but sadly no records from it's life in England survive.
Overall it's a good honest car that is mechanically solid but has some cosmetics that will need addressed if you are looking for a show car. If you are just looking for a nice driver quality car with a degree of patina then it's turnkey and ready to go.
