1965 Corvette Stingray Coupe
Some people would say that the most iconic American post-war car is the Corvette.
Certainly. within that distinction Chevrolet's Corvette Stingray Coupe would be the favorite of most collectors.
It was Bill Mitchell. the head designer for General Motors that personally saw over the creation of the Corvette Stingray for production and the Corvette Stingray coupe.
Everyone would agree that this design has aged extremely well.
It was with a 1965 Corvette Stingray Coupe that such things as disk brakes and the non-squishy suspension made this year Corvette a serious sports car and not a sports touring car.
Even the bucket seats were remarkably known for being well formed. the instrumentation was certainly of a GT variety and all of this was done on 98-inch wheelbase. supported by the 4-wheel independent suspension this put this Corvette in many ways in the same class with Ferrari and Aston Martins of the same year.
The 1965 Corvette Stingray Coupe presented in this auction is also equipped with BIG BLOCK HIGH PERFORMANCE 425 h. p. engine that lets the wheels put major rubber to the road.
This is the only year that Corvette used a 396 C. I.
Keep in mind that the big block 396 c. i. was not produced at the beginning of 1965.

The car is also equipped with front and rear disk brakes. the rear end has new calipers.
The FACTORY knock offs are in near perfect condition (even comes with a lead hammer)
with new period correct tires and factory side exhausts. see photos in video of closeups.
As you can tell this car was setup when ordered to be a monster rod with the big block engine. knock off wheels. outside exhaust and “ radio delete ”.
For the Corvette aficionados. this car has period correct heads. casting number on block is 3855962.
The VIN actually indicates a big block the hood is correct for a big block.
The car has been highly cared for by previous owners as well as the current owner.
If you are one who prefers the 396 coupe over all others. as it is considered one of the fastest. if not the fastest. out of all the Stingrays when it has the big block and 425 hp engine.
With that much power the front and rear disk brakes are important to keep the car under control.
The private seller believes that the car may have been repainted to factory quality as it has no checking in paint and body has no cracks.
The private seller believes that the car was always garaged because the chrome bumpers are in extremely nice condition.
Private seller is fairly certain that the car has original seats. original carpet. original interior.
