1962 Corvette Resto-mod/Pro-touring/Street-rod All C4 for sale

1962 Corvette.  Fresh frame off custom build. Just completed  03/2013.   As you can see. although this car is a full Restomod with an all C4 Corvette driveline it was built with a little more Street/hotrod flavor. The C4 suspension was narrowed by 2 inches front and rear to allow the 17 and 18 inch wheels and tires to tuck under the fenders for that aggressive rake and look.  I am the owner and builder of the car and available to answer any questions you may have.   My cell is 352-283-0076.   I am including a detailed description and pictures to show the quality of the car.

 

BODY/Paint:

Build started with a nice complete original Florida car. It was a 25 year old abandon restoration project. Body stripped bare. epoxy primed. all gaps worked for excellent fit. Body had a previous very old poor repair on driver's side lower fender panel. Panel remove and replaced with a new press molded lower panel and bonding strip. all other panels and bonding strips original. Other customizations to body are the spare tire well has been modified to clear the C4 Dana 44 and for the exhausts to run over rear suspension and exit through rear panel. Most others run under. The rear wheel wells are mini tubbed for tire clearance yet still allow the fold down convertible top. most all other Restomods with large tires tucked under the fenders are no top or Hard top only cars.

 

Paint is House of Color Jet set Black urethane single stage 2 part paint. I have built several black cars and black in single stage will show a deeper richer color tone compared to the plastic look of black with clear coat. Paint and body work is excellent. as shown in photos. plus all underside surfaces. hood. convert boot. trunk. and under floor painted body color.

 

FRAME and SUSPENSION:

Frame is the original 1962  and was in very nice condition. Blasted and epoxy primed. painted low gloss black.   

Custom front cross member narrowed 2 inches from C4 stock. frame dropped into cross member front and rear 1. 5 inches to allow lower ride height. Custom narrowed manual rack. QA1 adjustable Coilovers . new ball joints. hubs. bushings etc.  

Rear is also narrowed 2 inches. half shafts professionally narrowed and rebalanced. Dana 44  Positraction with 3:73 gears. all new.   All rear rubber bushings replaced with nylon insert heims for fully adjustable rear suspension. QA1 adjustable shocks. All new hubs. u joints etc.

 

BRAKES:

Front brakes are C5 Z06 13 inch drilled / slotted rotors.

Rear brakes are C6 Z51 13 inch drilled / slotted rotors.  

Dual diaphragm power booster and dual master cylinder.  

Wilwood proportion and residual valves.

Parking brake connected and working.

 

Wheels / Tires:

Coy's polished series C5   Front 17x7  with 215/50 SR17 Yohohama's

                                           Rear 18x8   with 245/60 SR18 Yohohama's

 

MOTOR. TRANSMISSION:

Engine 1995 LT1 with aluminum heads. bored 30 over with Eagle 383 Stroker crank kit.

Cam is Comp Cams kit 306 with roller lifters. Cam spec 230/244 duration @. 500   valve lift is . 510/. 540

Over size 30lbs injectors. high torque gear reduction starter.

 All new sensors. runs MAF and 02 sensors for closed loop. custom program in ECU for 383 stroker.

 Gas tank new with injection pump in tank.

Both the alternator and the AC compressor are mounted low and out of site using single serpentine drive belt.

Radiator is Be-Cool direct fit with electric fan and shroud

Trans is B\W Tremec T-56 6 speed. with new clutch disk. pressure plate & master slave cylinders.  

 

INTERIOR :

Seats are original 1962 with modified springs and foam to allow a lower seating position and have more of a sport seat look. The covers are custom leather by Al Knoch with perforated centers. double stitch seams and corvette logos.

 Door panels are 1958 Corvette in leather. dash pad is vinyl and both are by Al Knoch.  Carpeting is Custom Auto Carpets Over Dyno Mat on all floor and firewall surfaces.

Convertible top is Hartz stayfast cloth. all new seals. weather stripping. glass etc.

Steering column is modified original mounted at a lower angle at the firewall and closer to the dash. also uses the downsized 15 inch leather steering wheel to allow more lap and leg room.

 

TRIM:

Bumpers. door post and windshield post original . all have been re-plated show quality chrome.

Front grill surround and eye brows aftermarket replacement.

All stainless and cove moldings restored and polished. all emblems are new.

 

AC. WIRING. GAUGES. LIGHTS:

AC/Heat/Defrost is Vintage Air Gen IV all electric direct fit.  Sanyo 508 compressor; AC is charged complete and works very well.

Gauges are restored original with white face overlays. Tach is Autometer.

Wiring is EZ wire panel with all wires color and labeled end to end.

Engine Wiring is Fuel Injection Engineering. span > 

ECU mounted driver side kick panel;

Radio is Retro Sound Digital with  USB/Aux port. dash and kick panel speakers.

All electric items. turn. stop. hi-low beam. dash lights. interior light. wipers. horn etc connected and working.

 

OTHER STUFF:

By the description and photos I trust you can tell this a show quality car that you drive and enjoy.  It is a thrill to drive. starts quickly. aggressive exhaust sound. runs like a bat out of **** and stops even quicker. It is complete nothing left to connect. work on or adjust. Has been driven about 1200 miles since completion and is very reliable.

Yes. I have the original Hard Top. it is not restored and in primer. It is NOT. Repeat Not included in this auction.

 

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

This is a Guy car. being a stick/clutch car with a very aggressive cam. probably not a good fit for the wife or girl-friend.  

Why am I selling?  Started new project. need the room.
