1930 Pierce-Arrow Model A for sale

The Pierce-Arrow was originally purchase by the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. Colorado in 1930.
It was number 10 of a fleet of 13 Pierce-Arrows that were purchased (10 were open cars and the other 3 were closed).
Six of the original 13 still exist today.
For 11 years the fleet of Pierce-Arrows took Broadmoor Hotel guests up Pikes Peak every day.
Number 10 is believed to have travelled 365593 miles.
In 1946. the Broadmoor auctioned off its fleet of Piece-Arrows that had been stored in a heated garage.
Number 10 was purchase by a college student that was the son of a Colorado Springs judge.
He drove the car for 2 years and then sold it to Joe Scanlon.
Joe Scanlon owned a garage in Colorado Springs were he used the car sparingly for the next 30 years.
Sometime during this period Joe replaced the engine with one from a 1930 Pierce hearse from Leadville Colorado. because the valves on the original motor were leaking.
In 1976 Joe Scanlon sold the Pierce-Arrow to Chuck Mahan .
Since 1976 the Pierce has been maintained in drivable. original condition.
The wiring harness was replaced due to bare wires.
The top was replaced because the cotton threads holding the top together
deteriorated .
Coils were replaced.
Gray carpet replaced the rubber flooring.
The engine appears to be mechanically sound.
The top was replaced in 2007.
Interior restored many years ago.
Features include black wire wheels. dual side mounted spares. running boards. luggage rack. and 8-day clock.
In addition to the Pierce-Arrow car. the original engine block. extra transmission. two camshafts. and two exhaust manifolds in storage will sell with the car.
