1927 Auburn speedster for sale
Current customer rating:
1927 Auburn Bobtail speedster. Only one like this in the world! I bought this car 5 years ago as a 6-66 Sedan.
Got it home and found SO many body parts missing. that after two years of searching. I decided to re-body it. firewall rearward. as a one of a kind custom speedster that I could run in the Great Race! The construction is all steel. professionally done with English wheel. Hammer/shot bag. shrinker/stretcher. and tig welded.
All new wood sub frame. done in a manner that would have been appropriate in 1927. Basic body. doors. dash. etc. is done. except for finish welding. door latches and handle and other small detail work. I incorporated the original dash into the new bodywork. Wood wheels are perfect.
Engine has been completely rebuilt. Transmission has been overhauled. Excellent radiator and shell. Large Auburn headlights are flawless!! No rust other than light surface rust on the new sheet metal.
Everything is there to finish the car except paint and interior. and your choice of windshield as a "V" speedster style or Duesenberg low flat design. I have a 1927 front bumper if you want it. but its not "Auburn".
I have a good title. in my name. The car is in south Louisiana.
It breaks my heart to sell it. as its been a labor of love. . but I'm out of money. and too many irons in the fire. so a few things have to go. Im hoping a talented individual with deep pockets buys it gives it the finish it deserves.
Please feel free to call anytime with any questions.
Note: The car is for sale locally. so i reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells here.
Thanks. Todd

from Les Geyer, dated 24 november 2017Hi, I am in Australia, ironically I am doing the exact same conversion to 1927 Auburn straight eight 8-88. Would it possible to get the name and contact telephone number or email of the owner of this vehicle, I would love to converse with him.
Thank you for your consideration
Cheers
Les
