SELLER REMARKS

Did you ever think to yourself that those rat rod guys are on to something? How relaxing it must be to own a fun old car that goes fast and not have to worry about paint chips and weather and people touching it at shows. Well. wonder no more because this fun 1946 Dodge Coronet coupe is the antidote for all those high-priced trailer queens that cost five times as much and are half as fun.

There's no look more iconic than a flamed coupe and this one nails the traditional look. Is it pretty and perfect? Heck no. But it's cool in the same way that battered leather jackets and your favorite boots are cool. and the look is what it's all about. Fat fenders are great cars to drive simply because of their spacious interiors. but you also get some of the best styling of the period. with big fenders that'll handle any wheel and tire package you care to use. You won't worry about bugs or rain when you're out cruising in this car. but people will definitely sit up and notice when its flamed face rolls past. The workmanship is what you'd expect. but details like the butterfly hood and trick frenched taillights mean that they weren't just phoning it in. either. All the trim has been shaved and a custom grille from a later model was stuffed in the opening up front. then surrounded with that flaming paint job that's about as traditional as you can get.

Looking at the interior. you definitely get the impression that this car looks this way on purpose. because they spent enough money to make it look right inside. Comfortable power bucket seats. a custom center console. and contrasting orange paint on the dash and window moldings are definitely more polished-looking than your typical rat rod. White-faced instruments replace the originals. with a big. round speedo in the original spot and the auxiliary gauges in their own specially-made panel under the dash that ties everything together quite neatly. A custom tilt column with a leather-wrapped wheel and a trick shifter knob that looks like the cylinder from a revolver add personality and there's an AM/FM radio just in case. Even the trunk is neatly finished. more proof that this wasn't just a cut-rate rod. just one that was meant to look that way.

The entire thing sits on a repurposed Chevy chassis. complete with a 350 cubic inch V 8 up front. It's not pretty. although with chrome valve covers and Chevy Orange paint on the block. you think that maybe it looks exactly the way the builder wanted it to. Regardless. it's reliable and entertaining on the road. with a great V 8 soundtrack from those shiny side pipes. Power front disc brakes. power steering. a TH 350 3-speed automatic transmission. and a 10-bolt rear are all easy to service and as reliable as an anvil. so no worries about keeping it healthy down the line. Painted steel wheels with Chevy poverty caps suit the car and wear 195/65/15 front and 225/60/15 rear blackwall radials.

If you're tired of dainty. pretty cars that need to be waxed and buffed all the time. perhaps it's time to go the opposite direction in this ultra-traditional Dodge. Call today!
