In April of 1986.
Michael Kelly
formed the "New Avanti Motor Corporation" in South Bend. Indiana. Avanti production moved to Youngstown. Ohio in the fall of 1987 and rumors of a Special 1988 Silver Anniversary edition were circulating by November. This would become the 3 rd commemorative version of the Avanti. The 1 st was the 1983 20 th
Anniversary car and the 2 nd was the 1984 Avanti Touring Coupe. (both Steven Blake's idea).
Twenty-five cars were planned. then 50. but ultimately 27 Silver Anniversary Coupes were built: 2 red prototypes. (#1 became Michael Kelly's (black interior) and #2 went to co-owner. John J. Cafaro) (red interior) and

white production models.
This vehicle is a limited edition 25 th anniversary LSC which is a stretched version of the standard Avanti. Its wheelbase is 116" vs the standard Avanti wheelbase of 108". The fiberglass body sits on a modified Chevy Monte Carlo chassis and includes a Chevy HO engine. drivetrain. suspension. and brake components. The engine is a 305 CID V 8 including a Paxton Supercharger installed at the Avanti factory as OEM equipment. This car is #2 of the red prototypes with blackout trim. premium aluminum wheels with special 25 th
Anniversary wheel center caps and styled front and rear bumpers.
The car is fully loaded and includes. among other things. a
very unique all digital dash. It also features front and rear mobile phones. originally built for the owners. Cafaro & Kelly. Digital instruments include Speedo. Tach. engine temp. voltage. vacuum. oil pressure. Supercharger boost. and fuel level.
Not all Anniversary cars have this digital dash.
Also included: tilt wheel. burl wood dash. shifter console and rear seat trim.
Integral built in roll bar. power glass moon roof. power windows. 6 way power driver and pass seats. side power mirrors. power locks. power trunk release. locking gas cap access door. cruise control. A/C (134). power steering. halogen driving lights. rear window defog. electric radio antenna. Kenwood am-fm-cassette. Trip Computer system. all leather seats. dash. center console glove box. door panels. headliner. rear tray and seat back map pockets.
Front disc and rear drum brakes. This car runs and drives like new.
