 Turbo Charged 1974 Schwartz "Black" BMW 2002 Tii

A very nice original "Schwartz" ( Black) 1974 BMW 2002 Tii with custom high performance Turbo Charged engine.   This vehicle was original built by a West coast custom automotive performance shop featured in a 2012 Bimmer magazine article. and then purchased by a local Dallas TX collector.    In addition to being a quite rare original Black 1974 Tii this vehicle's unique highlight and unique characteristic is the 2002 is fitted  with a custom Turbo charged engine very similar to original 1974 Turbo.   According to the Bimmer magazine article and builder the Turbo setup is in the genre of the original but BETTER due to additional engineering such asfrom progressive boost controller that provides a smooth transition to force induction vs. original 1974 turbo charged 2002's that could be a bit uncontrollable.    The Starting point of this build was a nice 1974 original black BMW 2002 Tii.

Body and Appearance Upgrades

·        Original Black Tii wa was repainted by builder in new 2 stage clear coat base coat black paint with matching turbo body flares. spoilers.  Paint in excellent condition with exception of a small dent in passenger door and a couple of minor imperfections

·         Builder installed custom Ireland coil over suspension in front.   Lowered but unlike so many 2002 that are lowered still maintains a smooth original ride comfort. very well done in our opinion 

·        Nice OEM shorty euro chrome bumper installed in rear.   Does not have euro bolt covers but those are easily instlled (we at SelectClassics can add these types of mods to car if new owner desires)

·         New door stop checks and pins included with car (not installed.   We can do this for new owner

·         Turbo body kit with ower body molding holes welded shut cleaned up like Euro car.   OEM Turbo spoiler and flares raised and custom installed for cleaner look

·         Bottom of extremely clean. power washed and detailed

·         All trim. tail lights. etc. in excellent or new condition

·         Rubber in doors. windows. quarter windows. trunk seal. door handles all looks new

·         Front grills polished and reconditioned

·         15 inch Alpina style 15 inch wheels staggered with 225 50 rear tires and 205 50 front

Engine upgrades

·         All new peripheral(alternator. voltage regulator. water pump. ignition. plug wires. new 32/36 Weber carburetor

·        Tii engine rebuilt by previous owner

·         Aluminum new radiator with AC condensor electric fan 

·         Custom hybrid Turbo by Comp Turbo San Dimas. CA with with special compressor wheel provides progressive boost. dyno sheet available shows 155 rear wheel HP with 167 foot pounds of torque.  We make no claims to this performance these are all stats developed by original builder of car and quoted but documented in dyno sheet that will be delivered with car

·               2. 5 inch Mandrel bent Custom Stainless Exhaust 

·      Rear Bilstein  shocks with 22mm anti roll bar and urethane bushings

Interior upgrades

·       Original Turbo Like "Sport" steering wheel  

·        e21 front recaro sport seats nicely redone in solid and perforated Black vinyl

·        New door panels in matching perforated black vinyl in seats

·         Dash in excellent shape

·        Instrument cluster redone with  Carbon fiber surround (needs trim rings or some detailing but overall looks nice)

·      Vehicle appears to have new white headliner installed 

Other

·       Owner purchased a brand new complete AC kit including new Clardy style AC evaporator with every fitting. hose. compressor. dryer etc. part he can include if reserve is met or can offer to new owner at reduced price.   This is a very nice kit not available new anymore and is very complete !
