TREKKER TYPE 182 (Right hand drive)

NO RESERVE

VW imported 300 right hand drive Trekkers 182 during 1974-75 but only 71 were sold starting at chassis number 185 2086406 my one is Chassis number 185 2086412 making it the 6th one imported and sold and makes it rarer than an E-Type Jag.

It has been rebuilt over a period of two years by the seller. Originally in a pale lemon livery. it has been resprayed a stunning head-turning vivid green. similar to Kawasaki's motorbike green.

This car was never in the military though it still sports the same quirky folding rear seats. Doors and windows lift off and the front windscreen folds flat. The front windscreen frame has been rebuilt and the glass replaced. All the other windows are in good condition.

The hood is in really good condition however the frame suffers from a known design flaw and could do with being reinforced at the sides but is still fully functional.

All the tyres. including the spare tyre are in ‘as new' condition.

Handmade mahogany duckboarding has been fitted on the front and rear footwells and on the rear parcel shelf giving a very smart appearance.

The 41 year old seats are in pretty good nick though there is a small tear on the driver's seat back.

The 1600cc twin port engine has been stripped down and rebuilt and the tin ware powder coated. The recently replaced exhaust is an original VW part.

(The engine does not have an engine number and this appears to be an omission by a previous owner who never stamped the number on the replacement engine from VW. as he/she was meant to. )

This is a beautiful award winning vehicle. most recent one gained at an event organised by the Grampian Transport Museum.

It is quirky. eye-catching. easy to maintain. tax exempt and a huge amount of fun to drive.

Questions welcomed.

Please note that the buyer must pay a £500 deposit via Paypal. with the balance by cash on collection.
