1977 X HOLDEN TORANA 2 DOOR HATCHBACK - V 8 253 4 SPEED 9 INCH
RESPRAY:
Bare metal respray - all rust removed by welding and plating no bog. proper paint job with all lines bought back by spray putty (very minimal)Acrylic paint LH SLR colour 'cotillion white'. beautiful job and finish.
ENGINE: Running an LH SLR original 253 V 8 fully rebuilt about 15 - 20 000 kms if that (just loosening up & run in properly)Brand new 465 holley as carburetor on a redline single plane manifold Alloy tapper covers & velocity air filter Brand new 'come racing' lightened flywheel Brand new 'heavy duty' clutch kit including pressure plate. clutch kit & thrust bearing Aussie 4 - speed (M 21) rebuilt & re-bearing-ed about 15 years ago with tight floorshifter (no noises. runs well)Balanced tail-shaft with new universal joints front & rear Shortened to LX specs 9" inch diff running a 2. 75 to 1 centre (very tall. excellent for cruising but not recommended for burnouts or drags. Puts too much strain on running gear. i suggest a mini spooled 3. 5 or 3. 8 to 1 for burnouts or drags. is easily changed)Exhaust system runs genie extractors to a twin 2 1/2 inch system with stainless 'straight thru' mufflers with cut-outs before mufflers with stainless pipes to bolt on to bring out just before back wheels (bolt on & off for no leaks)Includes a group C x-type balance pipe under gearbox before exhaust cut-outs. Sounds good. reasonably quiet if mellow but sings when you give it to it ( how a Torana should sound)Break system all brand new including master cylinder new lines. machined 4 wheel discs (HQ front. UH back. drilled to HQ stud pattern) reconditioned calipers & brand new pads. Including a brand new line-lock for burnouts & drags
WHEELS: Running 7" x 14" inch hotwire mags on front with 215 mm rubber about 80% tread & 8" x 14" hotwire mags on back with 235 mm rubber about 70% tread
BODY/INTERIOR: Front end identical replica of an A 9 X Torana front end reconditioned Rear lower trailing arms 'boxed' to prevent 'twisting' when loaded up in burnouts. drags or hard cornering BRAND NEW complete rubber kit BRAND NEW 'plush pile' black carpet Fish - oiled in doors. roof. etc. Original wood grain and black dash in good nick running SLR instrumentation Original roof lining & door trims (sprayed black). door trims a little worn but not too bad Original white vinyl seats (front bottoms where you sit a little torn. but not too bad. back seats are pretty good)Also running fibreglass wheel flares & bonnet scoop Left hand sill is dented. no rust & been bogged (ONLY BOG IN CAR) would need panel beater to pull out of weld on a new one (not too big of a job) however is the only thing wrong with the car & maybe a little interior fix but a perfect example of a good old tory. ONE COOL. NEAT. NEW V 8 TORANA!THE NEW OWNER WILL DEFINITELY BE BUYING A GOOD CAR & WILL BE AS HAPPY AS A PIG IN SHIT WHEN ITS PARKED IN HIS OR HER SHED/GARAGE :)
