1951 Mercury Monterey Full Custom.
I designed and had this car Professionally Built in the "Barris
Style" A true 50's Custom. /
with many. many modifications. I did not want a typical cookie-cutter 51 Merc with De Soto grill and 54 Merc tailights. As far as I know. the grill was used by Barris only once and the Packard Clipper Tailights a few times. If you truly want something different. that grabs a lot of attention this is your car.
SPECIFICATIONS
. Chopped top. 4" in front 4. 5" rear. slanted door posts. . Nosed & decked. rounded corners. shaved door handles. . 351 C. C 6. 9" rear end. dual exhausts.
. Custom radiator cover. . Air conditioning. . Tilt wheel steering column. with turn signals. . Side pipes. non-functioning. . 72 Cougar front clip. rebuilt. . Power disc brakes. power steering. . Interior. original seats rolled & pleated 50's style. . Carpeting is plush house carpet. . Power windows. All new Tinted glass. . 56 Packard dash with engine turned stainless insert. . Dolphin gages.
. 55 Packard Clipper taillights. 53 Dodge grill narrowed 18" . 50 Mercury rear window. . 50 Mercury grill surround. . Original front & rear bumpers rechromed. . 55 Pontiac rear license bumper bars.
. Flush mount steel skirts. . Cooker wide whitewalls. . Gas filler door. located inside left rear fender. . Trunk lid. corners rounded. electrically opened. . Rear quarter seam eliminated. . 2005 GM deep metallic blue. base coat clear coat. . Belt line stainless angled & extended 2".
. Body stainless. 49 Mercury shortened 30" . Classic Pinstriping. . Sunken electric antenna. . 1963 Corvette Hubcaps with bullet center. . 1950's matching 3 piece set of Samsonite luggage.
This is an original Monterey. It came with stainless rain drip rail. and additional stainless interior door and rear side panel strips.
I have am/fm with remote 10 cd player that goes with the car.
The trunk is carpeted but sidepanels are not finished.
I have a complete photographic record of the build.
