1955 Studebaker Commander StreetRod (Project) StreetRod (Project) for sale
Current customer rating:
1955 Studebaker 2 dr Commander. Project Car. Was being built to Street Rod specifications.
Donor Car was a 1979 Camaro .
Reworked 1965 Chevy Impala drive shaft cut down and balanced with 10 bolt 1979 Camaro rear end.
"Big Block" Chevy 454 with double pumper carb. Included are: 2 new tires. 4 rims. 2 fiberglass racing seats and fuel cell. Engine has been dropped in and connected to drive train. Shifter is connected and operative. Power steering in and radiator in. Fuel cell in trunk does not have fuel pump. Interior is bare to the steel. Glass is all there but probably needs to be replaced as it is cloudy. Hood is included. Body has not been cut. It is straight and solid. Has clean Texas title. Car is not running.

Under the Hood
1. Distributor not timed with #1 Cyl
2. Tach and hot wire to HEI needs to be hooked up. Both wires are labeled
3. Needs throttle cable to the carb .
4. Top and Bottom radiator hoses needed. 69-72 Chevelle should work.
5. Needs fuel pump. and lines to carb and fuel cell
6. No transmission fluid in transmission. fresh filter
7. No fluid in power steering
8. Needs radiator cap and thermostat (Recommended 22-26 psi on radiator and 16-18 on thermostat)
Inside
1. No fuses in fuse block. Schematic showing connections and fuse sizes.
2. Toggle switch under tach is for radiator fan 3. Toggle switch right side of dash is kill switch.
Cuts all power to coil.
4. Seats are marked driver and passenger. Mounting bolts are in plastic bags and holes are already drilled in floor.
Front End needs front bushings in Stabilizer bar.
Electrical
Needs front turn signal lamps. Wires present with one wire being marked to be hooked to high side of lamp for turn signal.
Hood
1. Long 3/8” rod is hood support
2. Rod with 90 degree bend on ends with 2 holes drilled on both ends. This mounts to hood hinges with 90 degree bends pointing towards the rear.
3. Hood has no safety latch. Hood pins would be the choice application.
New or Rebuilt parts
1. New radiator. new electric fan. new power brake booster and cylinder for 1969 Camaro and rebuilt from calipers from 1979 Camaro.
2. New Hedman Headers. new exhaust and copper header gaskets. New wiring. new gauges and tach and new light switch.
3. New 18 gallon fuel cell with sending unit. All new brake lines.
4. Reworked 1965 Chevy Impala drive shaft cut down and balanced with 10 bolt 1979 Camaro rear end.
5. Steering column from 1979 Camaro and brake pedal from 1969 Chevelle
6. Used 100 amp/1 wire alternator
7. New HEI distributor
8. Shifter does not have Reverse Lock Out but has neutral starter switch that only starts in PARK.
9. Engine has not be reworked. An Edlebrock manifold added. It is a 454 pulled from Chevy Suburban and was cleaned and painted. Block Stamp shows: "361959 Big Block V 8 1973-1990 454. 2 bolt or 4 bolt" New valve covers.
10. New wheels from Summit for the front and American outlaw for the back. 2 new tires. 165/80 R 15. are included.

The car has disc brakes in front and drums in the rear.
