Ford Cortina Mk1 1.6 crossflow built by scholar race engines for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 451 votes

Hi all up for sale is my much loved 1966 Cortina GT look a like.

She started life as a 1500 deluxe but has the following spec GT Clocks GT / lotus centre counsel /umbrella hand brake /GT steering wheel/ she is fitted with saab front leather seats which seem to work and are very combatable  I have fitted new carpet i striped  the dash and painted gloss black as you can see in the pics looks very tidy she just needs the tops of the rear doors painted to finish I have so many comments on this interior at the shows.

She has a lot of GT running gear on this Cortina like the front legs disc brakes on the front with the larger drums on the rear.

She is fitted with 1. 6 cross flow completely re built buy Scholar race engines and has only just run in after around 1500 miles the engine had the following work carried out at Scholar unleaded head. lightened flywheel. fast road cam. new pistons. new capri rad. internal hydraulic clutch release from burton power. it had new prop joints front suspension joints steering joints bushes have all been replaced had new disc and callipers which were  completely overhauled. All brake pipes have been replaced there is a large petrol tank fitted in the boot as when it had the rebuild there seemed to be some crust in the old tank and did not want this in the fuel system. The battery is also fitted in the boot. She has lotus wheels fitted which have been refurbished in cream with very good yokohama 185/13 fitted  I think they set the red paint of a treat. Has a Ashley single box exhaust fitted and sounds great a lot of time and thousands spent on this car. spax adjustables on the rear and extra roll bar on the front end.

The paint work on her has a beautiful shine I was told it is Monaco red which was a Alan  Mann race colour in the sixty's. I will say that the paint is very good but dose have some micro blistering on the roof and tops of the doors this has never really put me off as you have to look for it she is very very solid underneath painted red and plenty of wax oil in all box sections. There are some small dents around the car and some bubbling around headlights this has not got any worse in the 2 years I have had the car just being honest as possible but as you can see the pictures they speak for themselves she has never shown herself up at any car show or car meet and was built in 1966 so is 47 years old. And  if this had GT on the Log book would be £10. 000 plus car.

I will be sad to see this car go but I fancy a change.

Free road tax and insurance cost me £79 with AA cover !

She has MOT till mid November.

Please call or txt me Matt on 07814 115238 if you wish to see the car please contact me no tyre kickers car to be collected within 7days the car is up for sale else where so have the right to end

Don't wait till the end of the listing as only takes one to have a look and the Cortina could be in her new home on classified ad as I know this is a good price for the car and we all know where we stand.
