It is time for me to sell my 325ix. I didn't plan on selling this car and was refurbishing it for myself. I own a small shop that specializes in older BMWs. specifically the E30 chassis. So I am selling because it is time to grow and expand the business and my personal toy is up for grabs.

It is a 1988 325ix coupe with a manual transmission. Sport model with the rear spoiler. sport seats. and mtech steering wheel. Fully loaded with the 13 button OBC and (Partially functioning) heated seats.

I bought this car after hounding the previous owner for years to let me purchase it. It had sat for 10 years in a parking lot and never moved due to some issue preventing it from starting when last parked. So I had it towed to my shop and proceeded to tear it apart and replace everything. I spent a lot of money on parts and spent many evenings and weekends working on this car to bring it back to life. It currently runs smoothly and I would take it anywhere. It has proven an extremely capable AWD car putting the subarus I have owned and driven in the past to shame. The car currently shows 186k miles on the odometer but the odometer gears need to be replaced so actual miles are unknown.

The car has no structural rust. None in the trunk and none on the floor boards. But it has a few spots of superficial surface rust as shown in pictures.

It still has some things that the future owner may want to tweak and tinker with but the major mechanical issues and maintenance have been addressed. The following is a list of items the car has had replaced during the last 4 months including a brand new set of all season tires. All parts were new and OEM or better unless otherwise noted. This list is not complete as I keep remembering items I forgot to add.

Replaced/Serviced:

*Front struts

*Power steering pump (remanufactured)

*Power steering fluid reservoir

*Clutch master cylinder. Slave cylinder. and hydraulic hose

*Accessory drive belts

*Timing belt and tensioner

*Adjusted valves

*Water Pump

*Valve cover gasket

*Radiator hoses and other coolant hoses

*Radiator

*Alternator

*Rear exhaust section and all new gaskets. hangers. and hardware

*Front and rear rotors and pads

*Parking brake shoes

*Brake wear sensors

*Rebuilt front and rear calipers

*Rubber brake lines

*All fuel hoses

*Spark plugs

*Valve cover to throttle body bypass hose

*Intake boot

*Injector o-rings

*Shifter linkage (this was a heck of a job)

*Shifter rod seal

*Reverse light switch

*flex disc between transmission and transfer case

*rear driveshaft Guibo (flex disc)

*Rear subframe bushings

*Trailing arm bushings

*Used rust free fuel tank

*Bosch in-tank fuel pump

*Fuel filter

*Fuel filler neck to tank hose

*195/60R15 tires

*Air filter

*Wiper blades

*Antennae grommet

*Oil filter adapter seal kit

*Hood and trunk Roundels

*Replaced dash with very nice virtually crack free used dash (One small crack was drilled and filled)

*Replaced seat belt receptacles with good used parts

*Carpet was removed. cleaned. and floor boards were inspected for rust.

*Passenger side front sport seat has brand new shocks and everything works properly (Drivers side will happen this week)

*Shifter boot

*On board computer light bar

 Negatives:

*Front seats have wear and tear

*Paint is original and is ok but could use a respray to be really nice

*Odometer gears need to be replaced

*Radio is older and should be updated

*Both front wheels have a slight bend which causes a vibration while driving. I had planned on getting aftermarket rally wheels so I never bothered changing them. It isnt horrible but it is noticable.

*Rear defrost strips dont work.

There are many things that I have done to the car that are not listed above. Such as cleaning and reconditioning exterior trim as well as removing tint. I reflowed the solder in the cluster and other than the odometer gears everything works. I will continue to tweak and improve the car each day I own it. it's a passion.

Included in the sale is the center caps for the wheels and tool. Also included are some new IX specific suspension and steering pieces that are not yet needed but are nice to have.

Car is sold as is where is. There are no warranties or guarantees written or implied. Please contact me to view the vehicle or arrange a PPI with a 3rd party shop. I will accommodate all reasonable requests.
