1966 Vw custom Splitscreen 15 window deluxe split screen camper van

Hi I have for sale my 1966 split screen custom van . nbsp;it is the rarer 15 window deluxe model with belt line trim and stunning metallic bronze and black paint combination .
the interior has leather front seats with lap belts. bespoke door cards and carpets .  a very expensive retro sounds stereo fitted to the dash. hich is designed to look like a original style system but has mp3 connections and hidden digital display . in the back it has a bench seat  which converts into a double bed (never been used ) also fitted with seat belts. bespoke cupboards and entertainment unit . wood laminate flooring . a surf board table which can be stored when not in use . win dvd screens and a cool box fridge .
the van is also fitted with polished safari windows with upgraded rubbers up front and eight custom made frameless side pop out windows . with custom made curtains .

the van has been extensively restored  . ork carried out includes :
new old stock doors . ngine lid . argo doors . all rubber seals have been replaced . s have the headlights and tail lights. expensive porsche headlight grills also fitted .
new steering box and track rod's 2" narrowed and adjustable front beam . nd 3"drop spindles .
complete new braking system including new duel master cylinder . ew brake lines and pipes . p front new drums and brake cylinders and pads and drums. ncluding new wheel bearings.
the van is sitting on a polished and detailed set of RADAR wheels fitted with type 2 detective slam tyre up front and fatter rears to give it the correct stance.
at the back I have fitted type 2 detectives drum brake conversion with new drums brake cylinders and bearings and hand brake cables. infact every thing except the brake pedal has been replaced and up graded on the brake system with all new parts!) . lso type 2 detectives adjustable straight axle spring plate conversion and a detailed 1300 beetle gearbox (needed to get the bus sitting right and looking cool ) and a EMPI quick shift gear lever .
now for the minor bad things:there is no heating system on the van . only use it during the summer and its garaged when it rains . ut a petrix system could always be added by the new owner. there is a 2" scratch on the back bumper in the bottom left corner . and one on the front bumper drivers side . lso there is a scuff on the belt line trim . hich I left as is when restoring but could be removed and polished out I never bothered as I didn't want a trailer queen van . ust one I could use.
the van also had 2 extra holes in the dash when I bought it so I fitted extra gauges . ut never wired them in never bothered me. hey could be wired in but unknown if they work ?(fuel gauge and speedo are all present and working though) 
and although the fridge and dvd screens are fitted I haven't fitted the duel charging system to power them up (but the wiring kit is included in the sale) . nd I may be persuaded to fit it if the buyer requires it . epending on sale price .
the  safari windows are top quality and were bought from creative engineering but are renowned for the fact they tend to leak when it rains . ence why I fitted the upgraded window rubbers to stop this. ut I have never tested to see if they still leak . o I would recommend removing these and fitting fixed glass if you plan on keeping it outside or using it in the wet months(just a heads up)
but all the important safety things have been addressed and replaced with new parts.

I have also replaced the complete wiring loom . o no dim lights!! and I have fitted a up graded alternator . and detailed the engine too. s well as fitting a new fuel pump and carb and a electronic ingnition kit (so no points to keep adjusting !)
infact the work carried out is far too much to list here I have a folder full of the receipts part I have replaced !!! I have photos of the restoration too . please don't ask for e-mailed copies . nless you are serious about buying please!)
in closing the van has always been garaged since I have owned it . nd never used in the wet months . t is in fantastic usable condition and looks amazing in the bronze and black colour combination which really sparkles in the sun shine . it is tax exempt (free road tax!) and has a full years MOT . the engine is strong and easily copes with motor way driving and start first time .  the gear change is perfect and precise the steering is the best I have had on one of these vans . nd the brakes although they are drums are pin sharp . ts the best van I have owned. ive had 3!!) it always gets a crowd when parked up (even when I  just pop out to buy milk !) but i've had my fun out of it and its time to move on and I fancy something American maybe a prowler ?

I'm not really interested in a part ex . nless its for plymouth prowler ;0) and I won't be selling to any Nigerian prince's with elaborate scam stories !please bare in mind that I don't have to sell the van (so no silly offers or dreamers please)  if I don't get close to the asking price I will keep it for another year they seem to go up in value every week . nd I think mine is competitively priced . so if you need more information/directions e-mail or call me . the van will be sold as seen . will require a deposit and no warranty will be given . s even though the van has been virtually rebuilt from the ground up it is still 47 years old  . so please no time wasters please .
