A virtually extinct Citroen GS ‘Service' Van with two owners and 69. 46 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT
Exterior stainless steel trim around the doors. chrome bumpers. exterior door mirrors. self-levelling hydro-pneumatic suspension. quartz-iodine headlamp bulbs. non-reflective dashboard. electronic tachometer. electric clock. lockable glovebox. hot and cold air blowers. heating/demisting controls. inertia reel seat-belts. reclining front seats. cigar lighter. armrests on doors. single-spoke padded steering wheel. dash mounted handbrake. rear window wiper/washer. Factory Options Heated rear window.

Aftermarket Options Fire extinguisher.

EXTERIOR
A truly unique and rare vehicle finished in Blanc Meiji II. (colour code AC 088). which has a wonderful deep shine and glossy brilliance.

Amazingly the panels remain undamaged. straight and clean.

The second owner authorised eye watering sums of money upon acquiring the vehicle in 1999 with The Oxford French Car Company Ltd to preserve this wonderful machine visually.

It now has a few blebs and tiny markings but still stands proud and is structurally perfect.

A replacement tailgate has been fitted. An active exhibit within the Citroen Car Club community this lucky escapee deserves all the attention lavished on it.

It is truly remarkable.

INTERIOR
For a commercial vehicle this van offers a comfortable interior with many quirky features including the dash mounted handbrake. famous Citroen padded one-spoke steering wheel and manual ride height control located between the front seats.

Intact headlining extending to the large cargo area is un-torn but marked in areas.

The rubber floor covering remains undamaged and clean and the seats. door cards and boot area are all original.

The driver's seat unfortunately has some tears and the factory fit Radiomobile is inoperative.

The galaxy of warning lights all function perfectly as do the control knobs. switches and levers.

A huge 58. 62 cu. ft load area makes this a hugely versatile. practical and very eclectic machine!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
On the road this GS ‘Service' Van moves smoothly and effortlessly with the light alloy G 12 horizontally opposed flat-four 1222 cc air-cooled engine pulling strongly and quietly. 60 bhp. a top speed of 94 mph and 30. 4 mpg make a wonderful combination.

Thousands spent at the Chevronic Centre Ltd since 2003 is fully documented and will ensure the new owner can drive and enjoy this wonderful car with peace of mind.

The four synchronized-speed manual gearbox is light and precise and a joy to use.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Correct and very clean steel wheels with chrome hub-caps are shod in excellent Michelin XZX 145 SR 15 tyres all round.

The dual circuit four wheel disc braking system with automatic load adjust pulls the car up quickly and safely in a straight line.

Caution needs to be allowed for first time Citroen GS drivers as the brakes are very responsive and only call for light pedal pressure!

HISTORY FILE
As confirmed in writing by Citroen UK Ltd this GS Service Van was built at the Aulnay plant North of Paris on the 17 th October 1979 and was supplied to the concessionaire in Dublin.

The registration document has one registered owner. J. H. Simpson Ltd who were cable television pioneers in that area.

Purchased by the second owner. Mr Brough. in February 1999 from Dublin Citroen Specialists. Dolphin Motors Ltd. it has been in his enthusiastic care ever since.

A considerable amount of money to the sum of £8742. 66 is documented with The French Car Centre Ltd to bring this vehicle to the owners standard upon first acquisition.

This ‘no expense spared' philosophy has continued throughout his fourteen year ownership with Citroen Specialists. Chevronic Centre Ltd. maintaining the vehicle.

The last visit being on the 7 th July 2013 for a brake overhaul costing £700. 60.

This vehicle will appeal to a true Citroen enthusiast wanting what is now a virtually extinct model with masses of Gallic charm or an entrepreneur wanting an effective marketing vehicle.
