Few 4x4 utility vehicles have been built that match the International Harvester Travelall for sheer toughness and durability. but Travelall owners also liked it for its car-like ride and handling. and there was much to like about sitting higher on the road than anyone else in sight. This 1974 IH Travelall combines all those ideal qualities with extra refinements as a result of a frame-off restoration that included numerous modifications and upgrades. Built on a 1971 chassis with 1974 4-wheel drive underpinnings. it uses a 345 CI V-8 from a 1979 IH Scout. Bored . 030 over and fitted with an Edelbrock 600 CFM Performer 4-barrel carburetor. the engine spins a 1975 Travelall rear differential with 3. 07 gears through a beefy Clark T-36 5-speed manual transmission. with M/T Sidebiter wheels. puncture-resistant Goodyear Wrangler offroad tires and Warn locking hubs completing the rolling stock. Finished in DuPont Medium Metallic Green paint with Black bumpers. grille and undercarriage. the Travelall is equipped with passenger step-up bars. a heavy duty fenced roof rack with spare tire mount. a front winch. front and rear tow hooks. mud flaps and West Coast mirrors. Beneath that workmanlike outer armor is a roomy interior with a wood-rimmed steering wheel. fresh Tan upholstery on the seats. dash and door panels. a padded roll cage. a rare optional third row bench seat and a Sony Xplod audio system. With power steering. power 4-wheel disc brakes and air  also at hand. this vintage 4x4 Travelall is the perfect conveyance for enjoying Life Out There.
