Current customer rating:
1957 GMC Custom Coach Built Rescue/Fire/Emergency/Patrol Vehicle from Cos Cobb Fire Dept. Adam Black & Sons
This is a one of a kind. coach built emergency vehicle specifically designed and made for the Cos Cobb Fire Dept/Greenwich Ct. Built in New Jersey. Private party is selling this. There is no connection to them other than it was designed in 1956 and built in 1957 for them. Their website has this vehicle on their page as it looked back then. Historical photos. I also have a link to the Coach built site under Adam Black and Sons with this vehicle shown. Please contact me if you can't find it and I'll send you a link.
This vehicle starts. runs. drives. and stops. This originally had a GMC 450 series engine. It wasn't running when I acquired it. so I put in a 20 k mile. 427 tall deck crate engine.
They included an ambulance compartment and a salvage rescue compartment.
Clark 5 speed Transmission
22. 5" Dayton wheels.
This vehicle has low miles on it.
I started messing with the lights and have most of them working. Windows on rear doors are cracked and need to be replaced (they still roll up and down fine) . and windows on the side of the rear passenger compartment are sliders that were broken. so I put plywood in there to keep the weather out. The body is solid with minimal rust.
