1966 Austin Cooper S 1275 for sale

This Austin Cooper S is a late 1966 model. It was rebuilt in 2007 by a previous owner. The cylinders were bored out increasing the engine capacity to 1293 cc. The car has a 4 syncro gearbox in a 22 G 1128 casing and a 12 G 940 head with double valve springs. It has a Maniflow exhaust manifold and has been converted to dry cone suspension. The car is in its original shell which has some rust but noting too major. The car came from the factory with Australian style doors that are available and included in the sale. These have the chrome strips around the windows which are absent from the earlier Mk 1 doors currently fitted to the car.

Also included in the sale is a cream crackle roof lining and c-post trim kit. The previous owner let the chassis number and engine number get lost during the rebuild and these currently have numbers issued by the local traffic department. When I bought the car I went to great lengths to confirm it's authenticity. Local Police Clearance office records suggest its original engine number is 9 FSAY 428 xx. They have no record of the original chassis number. However. those of you who know your Cooper S specs will know that most SA Mk 1 S's came from the factory with green shells with white roof and that the dash rails were painted in a textured black paint. The original (Almond) green paint is present on the shell under a coat of British racing green which has been covered by the current red. The black dash rail paint is present and visible in the picture of the interior.

The car has been dry stored since 2010 when I bought it. More pictures are available on request.
