Welcome to the Auction of my 1931 Austin Seven C Cab Fabric Bodied Van.  I purchased "Gulliver" from an Austin Seven enthusiast who had restored several Austin Sevens over the years. He told me he had purchased the van as a restoration project. It had originally been coach built as a fabric bodied C cab style delivery van for a company in the South of England. As a fabric body in need of restoration there was little to salvage from the original body therefore the restorer took patterns and reproduced it as closely as possible. My plan was to purchase an Austin Seven van to join my father in his Austin Seven for a long overland trip to Mongolia to take place in 2014. After lots of consideration of the suitability of a fabric van for this trip and inevitably falling for Gullivers charms I have decided that the likely outcome of putting this pretty wee Austin Seven through a 16000 mile trip including crossing the Gobi desert and many river crossings will be a not so pretty wee Austin Seven in need of another complete body restoration. I have therefore purchased a more common RP steel bodied Salon with a more robust body frame for the trip which is much more likely to put up with the abuse I intend to subject it to and not require a total re-build upon our return (if we make it that far that is).  Much as I would love to keep the Gulliver for Austin seven events in the UK I  am going to have to put him on the market to fund my over landing plans.  This unique Austin Seven would be an ideal car for any Austin Seven enthusiast wanting something a little different from the norm. He could also make an ideal display vehicle should you want to use him for that purpose.  The Van is in a restored condition. it is complete and ready to go. It has been dry stored for the past year as I have been away at sea and have not used it so as with all these types of cars may need a quick once over by an enthusiast to check everything is still as it should be before taking it out on the road. As with all cars of this age an MOT is not necessary so as long as you are happy with it mechanically and you have your insurance in place you are good to turn the key and take him for a spin (well actually there isn't a key. more a starter button and an open/closed valve for security).  When I bought the car it was running.   I suggest any potential buyers come and view the car before buying to make their own assessment of it's condition you will not be disappointed. I can send any additional information or photo's through you may require. Please note the girl in the picture does not come with the van. however may be listed in a separate auction :) Regarding delivery. I bought the van from the South of England and drove it into a high top transit van. which I hired to take it to Scotland. If you would like to have it delivered either the buyer can arrange their own delivery or I could arrange delivery service at the buyers expense to their location.
