1968 Volvo P1800S great running vintage classic sports car

Volvo P 1800 S. 1968

Two owner car. always garaged and properly maintained

Last owner acquired this car from an estate sale…. first owner drove it 56. 00 miles. stored it from 1985 (last inspection sticker showed 1986) until it was sold in 2007. Even had the original maintenance book showing service to 48 k miles.

When purchased in 2007. with ZERO RUST and in perfect operating condition. the following work was done:

new header pipe. new door trims. adjusted brakes. changed all fluids. tuned carbs and ignition. replaced seat webbing. cleaned overdrive filter. and replaced fuel gauge.

Also subsequently converted to an alternator.

At 57. 99 miles: new choke cables. new Bilstein shocks. replaced rear wheel and rear panel upholstery. new window felt. had carbs rebuilt by SU expert. replaced slightly leaking oil pan gasket. minor service.

Now. at 59. 00 original miles. runs perfectly.

No smoke when cold or hot.

50 psi oil pressure at operating temperature. overdrive clicks in and out perfectly. still ZERO rust. paint (apparently resprayed years ago) is very good and in its original green. went over the rockers. lower quarters. doors. etc. with a kitchen magnet and it stuck everywhere.

There DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY bondo anywhere on this car.

Chrome is excellent. same with headliner. carpets. cloth covered wiring harness. dash. original Volvo radio. seats. panels. trunk. engine bay. etc.

IF YOU WANT A SUPER LOW MILEAGE. EXCELLENT example of one of these lovely classic GT cars. why restore one when you can purchase this for a fraction of the cost of restoration?

And beautiful in green with light colored interior.

Always garaged. stored for over twenty years. genuine mileage. properly maintained. there may be better P 1800 s cars out there SOMEWHERE but they can't be all that much better.

STILL. as a 45 year old car. this Volvo is offered with no warranty or guarantee whatsoever.

Have done my best to accurately and candidly describe this car. checked for rust and filler. brought it up to operating temperature to check oil pressure and complete lack of smoke. a prospective buyer is certainly welcome to view the car BUT they will see nothing different than can be seen in these photos and as described in this narrative.
