The Tow Truck is a 1984 Chevy 3500 with a functional Holmes Wrecker. This truck was bought new by a local Chevy dealership and used for 10 years. After that it was put into storage for another 20 years until it was bought by me and turned into this Awesome Rat Rod Tow Truck. The engine is a 350 mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. The engine is all original with 67451 miles on the odometer. The engine has an Aluminum dress up kit. noisy gear drive (Sounds sweet!!). and a custom exhaust with stainless headers that go into 3 in straight pipe to 6 ft stacks with flappers. The body is all original with ZERO rust. The truck was dismantled and repainted in the patina paint. there is no rust. this is all patina paint with a satin clear that can be waxed and retains its dull finish (easy to keep clean). All of the lettering and pinstripes is had done by Terry Emler of Altoona PA. The Holmes Wrecker is 100% functional and working with 0 issues. We equipped the truck with a 164 DB train horn with an onboard compressor and 15-gal tank. that gets anyone out of your way. The truck was lowered 6 inches in the front with drop spindles and springs and the rear was dropped 10 inches with the frame being C notched. The truck rides about 10 inches high and rides like a dream. This thing has no problem cruising at 65-70 mph all day long. The interior is 100% stock except for the carpet that was replaced. All marker lights and tail lights were also replaced with Led lights. The truck was finished in Feb 2016 and driven daily all year long with no issues. This is a turn key Rat Rod and turns heads everywhere it goes.
